Could we have a separate section of the forum for practice threads ? Some people, or perhaps it's just me, have absolutely no interest in how well someones hit the ball at the range or on the practice ground. It's what you do on the course that matters, as that is where golf is played.

Mind you if anyone is interested i will be happy to tell you all about my practice putting on the carpet in the lounge. The putt that hit a chair leg, then flicked off my wife's slipper before rolling under the telly is a cracking story.

It was before i got my gps, but lets just say it was over half way across the room. I'm thinking at least 10 feet, but it could have been more allowing for detours. I don't want any 'shorty' comments though, as i know i had more power in the locker.

There's no need - we all know what the result would be. He can't chip, he's lost confidence in his approach shots, and now he's determined not to hit more than 230 off the tee just to prove a point. Otherwise known as a shuddering wreck.

That's why i suggested a new section so i don't have to read them. There was no warning on the thread title. I thought it might some sort of euphemism.

With a bit of work, you could turn that into quite an interesting anecdote.
Maybe add a car chase, a few explosions and a love story.

Methinks Tim & Homer should have a game, I suspect that Homer would wipe the floor with him given his years of experience and course management. And hopefully inject some humility in the process.

Fragger, I hit my 3 iron about 230 yards (the same as Homer's driver). So to make things fair I would have to leave my woods at home. But I wouldn't agree to playing Stableford - ignoring the bad holes and scoring "points" for good ones. It would have to be stroke play - proper men's golf. Can't see Homer agreeing to any of that - it would be too humiliating.

How does that equate to certain victory? I can easily lose to people who hit it less distance than me!!

I would have thought stableford would have helped you as you can hit it as far as you like and afford a couple of "blow out" holes if they're wild?
