My club must be in some sort of middle ground nowhere land when it comes to the clubhouse. Jeans and sliders/crocs are ok but hats aren't. Not sure if that makes us welcoming or not? 🤔

My local muni has no clubhouse but there is a pub/restaurant it shares a car park with (think it’s a hungry horse).
Next time I’m there I am going to see how many come in for a pint and if those that do who keeps a cap on.

That's a weird one.

I saw Anthony Horowitz on BBC breakfast this morning talking about his new book. He was in the studio, on the sofa, wearing a baseball cap. I did have a little chuckle to myself. Posh bloke, respected author, letting the side down..........

Was it raining in the studio or had they left a window open?

Sounds like a bloke going through a mid-life crisis to me.😉

And yet, a golfer keeping their gloves on gives you the heebie geebies 🤷. We humans are a strange bunch 😄
Absolutely it does you should all be burned at the stake 😂

I don’t know why I find it so weird, I think it’s just having grown up being taught the the game backwards by my dad, putting, chipping, pitching then eventually allowed to hit longer shots and never having one that fitted with my child sized hands I got essentially ingrained in not wearing one for the short game. It wasn’t till I started being able to hit longer shots that my hands were big enough for a small ladies glove. So when I then got close to the green it was just so much more comfortable to not wear one and it’s stuck with me ever since.

Oh and that you all look weird 😂

Or maybe I’m weird because I can quite happily play a full round not wearing one at all à la Freddie Couples style.

I'm similar to you. The way I'd explain it quite simply is; I don't think of it as taking my glove off for chipping and putting. I think of it as only putting the glove on when I feel like I need it, which is just for full swings really.

I like that way of thinking 🧐
It’s exactly that it’s put in for longer shots but in truth I don’t know why that is as I can easily play without one! Maybe I should just start doing that more and save money on gloves 🤔

Yes, I like that way of thinking - only wearing or having something in or on my bag when it’s needed - good call.

I’m a bit like that too, especially with the rain hood for my bag and my waterproofs.

I have two big callouses on my left hand from golf as it is, God knows what that hand would look like without a glove. 😂

Let's be honest, we all wear a glove just because pros and everyone else wore one when we started playing, and if we suddenly stopped now it would feel weird for a while.

I’ve got proper workers form years of doing my job and lifting weights. My hands have more mileage on them than a 2004 Honda Civic 😂

I genuinely wouldn’t feel weird at all, I’ll often at the range hit balls without my glove on as I alway warm up by pitching 10 or so balls and by the time I’m done I can’t be bothered to get the glove out of the bag 😂

Wearing one has become more of a thing because we’re meant to thank because I need to! Might give it a got this weekend in the comp, after all can’t be any worse that the crap I played in the last one !
