Worst round of the year...

...by an absolute country mile.

Started with 4 of the easiest pars I've ever made and then dropped 19 shots in 10 holes.

All of a sudden my old fault of getting the club stuck behind me came back and I just couldn't seem to get rid of it until the 15th and then played the last 4 in +1 for a gross 92

I've not felt that frustrated on a golf course since last year and hope to god it was a one of.

I'm pleased I finished well and am gonna try to forget about it and put it down to experience but it's a real kick in the teeth given how well I've been playing recently.

Bad luck Hawkeye.

I played the worst 9 holes of my life (almost) last Sunday.
Something was really, really wrong. I went for a lesson, took it on the chin, practised hard and bounced back yesterday with approx 4 over par for 16 holes to close out our matchplay 3+2.

If you have another bad game or two, go and see the Doc; you know it makes sense OR you might click back in next time out!
who knows, that's golf.

2 years ago I shot 100 gross for the first time since my 3rd ever round of 18 - that's about 15 years! Utterly depressed for a week or 2 until it all came back and I began playing better again.

It'll come.

unlucky mate

i shot 115 yesterday which was really depressing as i shot 86 the friday before. just to top it off it was my first card for my h/c. i really didnt want to put that card in but knew i had to as it was a honest score for that day and i would feel a cheat if i didn't

still 2 more cards to recover it

Are you sure this isn't a bit of psychology for Wednesday? I wouldn't worry too much. You started and finished well so the potential is still there. Put it down to a bad day and keep plugging away

I'm really not that concerned about it yet. I hit the ball really solid for the last 4 holes once I'd worked out the problem and I'm kind of glad I got it out of the way before our club championship in 2 weeks.

If I'm honest, I've been waiting for a round like today's to happen, just didn't expect it to be so spectacularly bad.

Not nice to play like that but at least you know why, and started to put it right before the end of the round.

I had a gross 98 last year and had no idea why I was playing so bad.

season for horrible scores it seems. on Saturday i shot MY worst round of the year although i managed to beat 100 - by a single shot

Yep, I had a shocker a few Fridays ago. Gave up counting the shots from about the 7th. Nearly walked in after my 'tee shot' on the 12th (it went about 100 yards straight up, and 50 yards left onto the 7th green. I had to do the walk of shame, explain myself to some other members playing up the hole and retrieve my ball. Had to fix my flamin' pitch mark too).

I did manage to hit a nice 3 wood onto the 16th green, then another decent 3 wood off the tee at the 18th. These were the only shots I could say were ok, out of what was probably 120 swipes.
