Please tell me that there is someone else out there working yest & today.

Got 9 holes in after work last night which was great but tough to look out the window at what is a perfect golfing day today

Consulation is that I am going to use my 2 x lieu days as 4 x halfdays for some summer afternoon golf

If your off, play well !!

I 'volunteered' to work yesterday evening... As a 'casual' worker I don't get paid for Bank Holidays as such so chose to go in rather than lose eight hours money...

My son is having to work today as his employer decided today wasn't a 'real' Bank Holiday so expected all staff to turn in... If they didn't he would assume they had resigned...

Yep, been away from home working this weekend. Started Saturday, finish tomorrow morning.

At least you have windows. I work in an underground bunker and don't see the sun all day!

I worked today but I did so to get last Friday off. Seemed better to me. Nice empty office today meant I could stick the iPod on and it flew by.

TOIL!!?? I wish.

Not in the office but always bits to be done....

BH Monday = forecasts for meeting on Wednesday
BH Tuesday = conference call with Indian supplier.

But on the flip side, I don't need to take time off for a round. If everything running okay, I just go and play.

Well I'm sure his employer would have had a hard case fighting that at a tribunal considering the countries leader declared it a bank holiday. Not mr trumped up middle manager!

There is no legal right to have bank holidays off in the UK, so what the leader of this country declares as a Bank Holiday is moot.

Based on the assumption that the contract of employment refers to bank holiday leave, which going by the boss allowing Monday to be included but not Tuesday it is, they'd be hard pushed to fire someone for having Tuesday off.

Even if it's not in the contract, if all over bank holidays were given as time off, itd be an implied t and c. Again difficult to defend.
