As he lives in Florida his tax bill is pretty damned small anyway. Lovely gesture. If it meant nothing to him his accountant would have just posted a cheque. This should be applauded not picked apart.

Just out of interest, which particular celebrities do you know of that show up and don't donate?

Just about all of them in OK magazine etc, that get married and have a £250,000 contract for exclusive photos and stick it in there bank account. Those that do get paid and donate to charities, big respect for them. But those that want money for exclusive photos of there big day come across as shallow.

I have more respect for people like Rory and Stevie Gee who donate to charities close to there heart. They are role models that others may follow with donations like the recent ice bucket challenge.

George Clooneys recent wedding was reputed to be about $500,000 and all going to charity (I could be mistaken on the amount but not the charity)

Sorry but who's Stevie Gee?

Whilst I admit that I never go near the mags, if some magazine is dumb enough to pay that money for wedding pictures, and then readers are dumb enough to spend money to buy the magazine to see those pictures, then why not?

As far as I can see they not courting publicity by attending a charity event, but then not donating any money, which was your original point I think?

now that REEKS of class and exactly what a superstar and zillionaire should be doing even in small measures. I would like to think I would do the same and any feeing human being if it was within thier power.

Hopefully it will inspire some others.

Wow if that's the case, then Tiger Woods could be one of the classiest guys on Tour considering he's probably donated the most money to help causes.

I m happy to say without giving away my employer that we where involved in the opening of this place. The satisfaction in knowing that your daily struggles in work sometimes are worth it and in this instance very much worth it make you open your eyes. I have been a big fan of Rory for a long time and had the pleasure of meeting him and can only such a gesture only backs up my already high standing of him. Got wind of this a while ago and I am so pleased for the charity.

Well I'm not officially surprise !!!

A young man gives away £1mil plus yearly amounts to help a children with Cancer home and his motives are questioned ?!?

Some must lead a very sad life

Nothing sadder than cancer in children. An awful thing. Hopefully there will be a day when the cure is found

Well done Rory on a super gesture

We have got to know some of the staff from nicfc with Molly having a brain tumour. They are fantastic people.
From what I have seen its not just a money thing for photos from Rory he has been there more than once and has spent time with the families and I believe it's a cause he cares greatly for.
Long may it continue, a wonderful gesture that will help lots of people.

1) What has people getting paid for their wedding photos got to do with celebs fronting charities and not donating?
2) How do you know the money for said photoshoots goes straight into their bank accounts and they don't donate fortunes to charity elsewhere?

So will not pay tax on the money. If he kept it then he would probably only loose 250,000 of that in tax, so 75% of any donations is still coming out of that persons pocket! it's just that the other 25% is not going to the taxman.
