Wish me luck!

Good luck tomorrow, you're out their doing something that you love to do. Just wait untill one day when you have a great round, in poll position, and have to try and sleep!!! :D

For me, when I think my chances are gone or have a disaster, the target is to buffer. I hate getting 0.1 back.

It's not as bad as it sounds if you round the disaster down to nett double, then work out what you need to do to still make buffer. It might mean you can only drop 2 shots in the last 6 holes for example, but it's something to aim for and to focus you.

Well at least that score explains the long wait for the update post. Don't forget a new pencil for tomorrow, that one must be worn out!! :D

Unlucky Jon. Hope you can turn it around tomorrow.

I shot higher than that today. Some great shots but my card was ruined by a 10, a 9 and two 8s. My course management can be shocking at times :)

sitting here in worcester, not far from Aztecs in Gloucester. I get the impression he might be a little damp. Rain started about 6, looks like it will be here 'til 6. :D
At least he'll have an excuse  ;)

looking at what we've already had here there will be casual water already I would think. hope the holes have been cut on high parts of the green, could even become unplayable.

Those delicate tour pros would be off the course drinking coffee by now. ;)

Frack me! Well, I'm never doing that again!

Tee'd off just after half 8 in steady rain which lasted (and got heavier at times) for the next 5 and a half hours while I was out on the course.

To make matters worse my (Golf Monthly branded!) umbrella completely broke on the 3rd when the wind picked up thus playing 15 holes with nothing to protect me or my clubs from the rain.. Oh yea, the wind, I didnt mention that did I? 15-20mph gusts which were consistent throughout the round.

Positives? Well there weren't many. I was +1 on the par 3s for the day (3 pars and a bogey) and if it weren't for walking in the long rough and water creeping in through the laces/Tongue, my lunar control Nike's kept my feet dry.

That's about it! Left the driver in the bag after 4 holes mostly because everything was so wet that I could barely grip an club. So I just hit my two iron off the tee (and used it for most second shots!) using a 3/4 punchy type swing.

Did the same with the rest of my clubs - clubbed up and took a shorter swing. Anything else and the club would have come out of my hands (as it did for two of the guys I was playing with!)

All in all not a great day, and I now remember why I don't play golf in the rain. It's a complete waste of time.

Incase you're wondering, I shot 104. Utter tosh. only consolation is that there were a lot of NRs, so I definitely didn't come anywhere near last!

I'm proud of myself for sticking at I through the elements. But I'd never do it again.

As my posts above Aztecs, how did the course hold up?

Sorry mate, missed it the first time! Course actually held up ok when we went out. Few of the greens had casual water but the course never felt water logged. Drainage seems pretty good overall!
