Hi all,

The parents are wanting to invest in a surround sound system, though the only stipulation is that the rear speakers are wireless (well, as wireless as they can be..). I have had a look around, and really can't spy anything that is going to do the job, so I thought I would come here and hopefully get some wisdom and advice from everyone here!!

An all-in-one system isn't going to function unfortunately, as they would like to put SkyHD through it as well, which will bring the need for a receiver with HDMI inputs. No real budget, but can't be massively expensive, but I also do not want them investing money in something that isn't going sound good. The room is fairly sizeable, hence the need for wireless, as the cables would be a chore to hang round and hide.

I originally pointed in the way of Richer Sounds, however, apparently they couldn't help!

Failing any wireless help, does anyone have any knowledge of the sound bars that replicate 5.1 sound?

Any suggestions?

Its are hard one. Sound bars can be decent but never as good as the true Surround sound experience.

This is a excellent surround system for the money (better than any equivalent big names I've heard). Unfortunately all tech data about sound levels seems to be trying to use inflated numbers as does most audio equipment companies so can't tell the true RMS power of the speakers. This isn't a problem if you wire the system but can make the next suggestion a little harder.

You could then try this for the rears. 15W RMS per channel which would give a total 30W at the rear. 30W RMS isn't a low volume mind you.
