Winter Frustrations

Good luck! Played in the scratch match at yours before xmas and the course was in good nick. Have they finished the new green and tees they were doing or do they not come into play until summer?

The 9th green is being remodelled, with the surrounding bunkers being reshaped and extended, it's almost done and should be open for the sorta of the main comp season at start of April.

Glad you enjoyed the course.

Very frustrated. The weather in the last month has just fell on the wrong days. Open mid week but closed on comp day. Even open on the Saturday but closed on the day I was due to play.

Hope things improve...as much as I'm really enjoying Wynyard, I need more golf. Beginning to look like I need to be a member back at a links course too.

Thought that would be the case, looked good the works they are doing (even if it meant the 9th played like a par 3 and the 10th was a far easier tee shot). Be good to play it again in the summer once the changes are finished and bedded in.

Always enjoy the course :) (even if we did get unlucky to lose up the last lol)

Lucky to live on the coast.

No qualifiers but played every weekend and only the odd time on temps due to frost.

Course is in great shape, been my first full winter at my club and it has opened my eyes in terms of winter golf, nothing like my last place that was a paddy field!

Only annoyance is lack of midweek evening golf, really looking forward to the lighter nights as that's when I get a large proportion of my golf in

Was getting a bit fed up with the wetness of everything, but thoroughly enjoyed winter nonetheless. May not have been that many qualifiers but the swindle remains fiercely competitive. And the denouement of the swindle season approaches rapidly so it only gets fiercer. Trophies for best and worst golfer to be had. (Bizarrely I won both last year )

Every year around the end of Jan / beginning of Feb I am totally cheesed off with playing on frozen ground in the freezing cold and start looking (daydreaming) at golf holiday websites.

Never end up doing anything about it though.

Ok, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and my first Q is only 50days away, but is anyone else seriously fed up with Winter Golf now??

I am hitting balls pretty much every lunch time, putting on my artificial green in the garage twice a week and playing at the weekend but its just not enough. I need competitive golf back in my life!!

My game is in good shape so i am mega excited for the season ahead, but i am losing my mind!!
Winter is just good to get out in the fresh air and enjoy the company! Never knowing what the ball is going to do when it lands in takes away any control. Looking forward to warmer days and a predictable course......

I hear good things about gog magog. If it drains well may have to look at having a winter / off season day trip.
