That's Scotland for you - still feels like Autumn down here! Almost shirtsleeve weather today.
Won't be long though. It is starting to look depressing.
They've marked out, cut and put holes in the temporary greens - deep joy.

It was short sleeves today for us, couple of flurrys of rain but the 30mph+ winds sorted that.
Our course SI's have changed as of today for sunday golf too, all of our par 5's are now par 4's due to the shorter tees, what a difference that made to the scoring haha.

We went onto mats today, greens are holding up really well though, winter greens marked out but not in use.I suppose we are lucky as our mats are not too far from the tee's approx 10 yds so it hasn't really shortened the course much.I cant stand to see the tree's without their leaves though, I know what's coming. :(

it’s winter. :(

It's grim, that's what I say.

At 12.00 (halfway up the 11th hole) I looked up at the Sun and noticed it wasn't even halfway up the sky.

Do we live in Greenland or something suddenly?

Played (no sorry hacked) my way round today in glorious sunshine but a stiffish wind. The course was playing pretty well although the greens were alittle bobbly but to be expected for the time of year. The same old spots are getting thier leaf collection (don't drive left on 5 and 12!!!!) but all in all it looked glorious.

The temps have all be marked out but as we only go to them midweek (we rest three greens per week regardless) or in frozen conditions we should still be OK for a while. We don't use temporary tees.

That’s it, the clocks have changed, leaves building up in every corner, the skiings on eurosport and the soup is on the boil…….it’s winter. :(

.....and a lot of the links are on Winter Rates! Time for the Fife/Lothian Links Challenge for me. We start at Scotscraig and work our way down to The Glen. :D

Too true Clive,I'm off to Seaton Carew this week on a winter rate but full course deal.Plenty of cut price courses but this time of year it's all about getting lucky with the weather!

Me too. The wind was tough today. Two nice drives just right of centre (pushed, not sliced) got blown into the trees, had to chip sideways.
Two second shots lost in leaves, impossible to find in the glaring sun. 4 unfinished/blobbed holes.....worst stableford result in 26 months (as long as I've been playing again).

Might go out and erase the memory tomorrow.

We don't use mats or temporary greens, so winter golf for us isn't too bad. If you don't mind the wind, driving rain and cold, that is.
