Wimbledon

It was a win but should never have gone 5 and the last set was a walkover.

I want Murray to win but he reminds me of Lewis Hamilton where he blames everyone else when things go wrong then loves everyone when he wins.
Both very very talented both massive babies

Agreed about the 5 sets, you would think at 2 sets up it would be an easy win, but he seems to take his foot of the gas and make it hard for himself.
Maybe not giving Tsonga enough credit as sport at this level is rarely easy...

Yep, He was embarrassing at times during the 4th set and was even kicking off and slamming his racquet into the ground at 2 sets up.
Someone needs to have a word, I'd imagine if its anyone other than his mum though he'll probably sack them.

Ivan Lendl maybe, you're having a laugh, not even a smile

Serena Williams on court for 48 minutes today in a semi final of a grandslam, Andy Murray on court for 3 hours 45mins or so last night yet the ladies claim they should be on equal pay. I agree they should be on equal pay but only if they play best of 5 sets too, if you pay good money to watch tennis 48 minutes is pathetic value for money for a whole match. Ladies of today are fit and athletic and strong enough to play best of 5 imo, at least in the grand slams. Equal pay for equal match durations I say or is that all wrong?

Why do you care about this? Genuine question.

Its not good for the women's game that Serena at 34 can dismiss someone in the Wimbledon semi-final in less than 50 mins. You can say what you like about how impressive Serena is a player but having a last four contest at the biggest tournament in the calendar being such a non-event and over before everyone's properly settled into their seats is rather embarrassing.

That`s just wiped the smug, arrogant grin off Federer`s face.:whoo::thup:

Not a fan of his then? I am! Though I'm no fan of his taste in design/fashion!

Great match that could have gone (and did at times!) either way. Phenomenal belief by Raonic that pounding down serves consistently at 140 was the way to go!

Not sure I liked the way Sue Barker referred to the likelihood (quickly adjusted to possibility) of meeting Murray again in the final though! Still hope that happens though!

It's not about caring, it's probably about the equality of prize money which I think is the same now.
The men's game is in a really strong position in my opinion at the moment and the women's game is a struggle, Fair play to Serena today, she is a class player and her record backs that up, after Serena I'd only know a couple of players who would challenge.
Just my thoughts 😀

Why is it that you feel so strongly about
Equality when it suits?

That's quite a leap from my question. I'm 100% for equality right down the line.

The reason I asked is that although gender pay inequality is such an issue the only time it seems to crop up on here is in a context where it only impacts a handful of global superstar millionaire tennis players. I struggle to understand why it generates such strength of feeling.

It's a total red herring as well, incidentally, but we've done that to death several times so I can't be bothered going into it again.
