Will Tiger beat Jack's record?

I think he'll manage to turn up one day and steal a major, whether that's this year or in 10 years I don't know

Makes for great TV watching Tom Watson challenging at the open or freddy couples leading the masters, no spring chickens

I think Tiger is more or less done. He has lost his swing, his desire to play and probably his basic mojo. He can't win playing such a limited schedule only surfacing for big events. It is a bit like a farewell Tour at the moment, except the band hasn't tuned their instruments.

He could still pop up and win the odd event at a favourite course, but I think his days of seriously contending in majors as he once did are over. The Masters is probably his best chance.

I reckon he's got a few wins left in him, maybe even a major, but I doubt that he'll surpass Jack. He certainly won't in the gentleman stakes. JN did win his last 3 majors from 40+ though, albeit in a different technological age. Actually the age of my last set of irons...

Interesting little snippet from Jason Day...

Day, incidentally, played a practice round with Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson on Monday.

Asked for his assessment of Tiger's game, Day replied: "Tell you what, if he could get on the fairway, he'd probably be back to where he was. His iron play is just ridiculous how good it is right now, it's really special.

"The driver and the 3-wood -- the 3-wood is OK, the driver ... gets a little wide sometimes. But I think that's the biggest thing for him right now is to really kind of get on the fairway. His short game looks pretty good."

I have said since 2012 he won't beat Jack's record, something that was odds on in 2008. My reasons in 2012 are the same as today. A few majors have been won by guys in their 40's but he needs to win 5. That's a very good career in itself. Given Tiger's recent form, there is nothing there to change my mind, or anyone else's it seems.
What a ride it would be if he was to prove us all wrong.

I hope Tiger breaks the record. I also think Tiger could win this week. He'll either win it, or miss the cut by a mile, but no where in between, IMO.
