• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

Why, why, why, why, why??????????

Cracking drivers them Smiffy - two of my regular playing partners both used them and they were consistently long off the tee - not always straight, but always gave it a good belt.

One of the senior guys in our regular group picked one up about 6 months ago, and his driving is now the best it's been since i've known him. He used to have a high slice, due to cutting across the ball on the inside, and the S2 has helped him out massively.

Another fool signing in.

I've recently said I was happy with my bag, and in the past I've said my putter will be staying for a long time.

I 'accidentally' won a putter on eBay at the weekend. :o

Didn't you recently get fitted for a putter?!?!??!

June last year, yes.

Gone with the same length, balance and general type. Just trying one with a milled face rather than an insert, and a bit more of an alignment line.
The fitted one will never go though because I know it works for me. I just can't help dabbling.

There is no saving you my friend...

I got fitted for a putter at the same fitting as Gary..... and I too have recently looked to ebay at a moment of weakness. I was looking for a Anser type putter and ended up with a mid mallet & an obscure anser type.

I now have 3 putters !! I'm going to do a big test this week and see which 2 I prefer. It will be a gradual process of elimination.

Region, if you don't mind me asking what putter did you get?

I've been using a mallet (Rossie) and actually really like it, the insert is giving me some problems from long distance though.

I'd be interested in getting a milled one myself.........

I hope you realise how expensive that post is for me!! :)

I've been toying with one of these the last couple of weeks, really really nice putter.......

Oh well, might aswell dust the wallet off.

I'm surprised that its taken you this long NWJ !!

You wont regret it region. Best putter I have had, and I have had a few !

Much the same here but it wasn't an accident.
Much like Darth Vega, I've been eyeing up the Odyssey No.7 Tour. Heavyish head (360g) and a gold/bronzy colour.
Managed to find one at a very respectable price newly listed on Ebay - it was on for a total of 4 minutes 23 seconds before I bought it - and it's been in the bag for the last 4 rounds.
And it's done very well. Although I took 34 putts today, many were from quite long range and I only 3 putted once. Sunk a good few 10-15 footers too. Having no problem with distance control which has been a problem with Odysseys in the past.
It's sooooo stable through the swing and I feel a long term relationship begining.....

I know, unlike me where putters are concerned but......

My Rossie is really good from 8-12 feet. I'm holing more of those than I ever have so need to have a proper go with the Kombi to make sure I'm not going to give that away. And then, of course, there's the Fastback that I was playing around on the putting green with aswell :)

Choices, choices

I played with Smiffy last year and for an old fella he bashed a good ball around there. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on when we go to Woburn (Timber!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). I've not really had an urge to look at other drivers and I'm quite happy with the old TM Burner. I could get the R7 Limited regripped and give that a go as I love the head shape. Similarly I am happy with the Anser and the odyssey #9 for really quick surfaces. Surely the positive, happy smiling Homer can't be content with his line up. I need a lie down

Well the club turned up yesterday and everybody that saw it thinks it's brand new....it's that clean! Not a mark on it and feels really nice. Shaft feels similar to the one I have now in the i15, but the proof of the pudding will be when I get round to giving it an oink. Played around with the settings, putting it in the "open" position gives it a very similar profile to my i15 at address, I doubt very much that I could hit it on the "neutral" or "closed" positions. Nice head shape, a little more elongated than my i15, and the face isn't quite so deep. All in all, well chuffed for the price I paid.

How long til its covered in sky marks??

3 holes maximum!
