• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

Why, why, why, why, why??????????

Nice piece of kit that. I tried one out before I went for the 910. Lot easier to hit than the Ping I15 you currently have. For that price as well you cant really go wrong. Even if it starts to misbehave down the line you wont lose much on it.

My mate Ray had one when they first came out. I had a couple of clobbers with it and loved it. He couldn't get on with it and sold it to another mate of ours. I didn't even get a look in.

Let me take an educated guess Smiff!
The i15 look the mutts nuts when you take it out in front of your playing partners.....
You catch it straight out of the screws and the ball takes off like the Hammers of Hell....

It sails away into the sky for what feels like ages and it flys past your partners drives by the odd yard in 30....

BUT......................................... On the next smack of it you catch it ever so slightly out of the heel or toe and it turns around and kicks you in the ass letting you know who REALLY does wear the pants in your relationship with it...:(

I have Love/Hate relationship with mine also....But when you get a decent swing on it it goes like the clappers :):):):)
Its probably the longest thing iv hit to date and truth be known i have had the urge to change it but i just cant bring myself to do it......

How'd i do?

I have to say, I tried an I15 and found it quite hard not to push right, had to be the shaft though as I am perfect
I'm getting on ok with the i15 Brendy. But I saw this one up for grabs on the bay and made a cheeky "offer" on it. The guy came back and after a bit of argy bargy I managed to get it for £72.00. Complete with headcover and wrench and in immaculate condition.

Something like that! Lol!

72 quid isnt bad all in for the accessories. I hate the guys that sell drivers without them, means another 20-30 quid of hunting for parts and delivery.

Sell the others now then as you will get on fine with the S2 long and a doddle to hit you'll not want to put the others in the bag now you have that. Not quite as load as other Cobra models either. It was my number 2 choice if I had not bought the 910 D2 I'd have gone for one of them.

I am partial to, on occasion, changing my driver... Usually sell on my old ones though so I can't start wishing I still had the previous one...

Plus it gives 'erself less chance of 'discussing' how much I spend on the game...

Last time I saw you, you nutted your i15 down the first at Cooden beach. I knew it was a fluke.
That was one of my better ones Murph. But to be fair, I was clouting it like that all day around there. Must have trod in something on my way to the 1st tee I reckon! It's still in there somewhere. It just doesn't come out as often as it used to.

sh-5438a.jpg The actual club I bought. In really good nick!!

Just parted with my old G2 on fleabay, only the Cleveland and Titliest to go now, then I could start clearing out the putters.

Only got the one putter but I must get rid of some of my other gear. Certainly don't need 5 drivers...I think I might actually have 6 as there is another Callaway Steelhead plus sitting around somwhere.
I'll keep my i15 as it performs pretty well and it was a prize from GM. Every time I look at it I remember stuffing it up those Ping boys at Walton Heath!
I'll see how the Cobra goes. Looking foward to having a go with it. If it works, great. If it doesn't, it's no great loss.
