I'm sitting here watching th Wales Open (Singh just got a Hole In One) and I'm wondering why it's the Wales Open and not The Welsh Open.
I mean, it's the Scottish and the Irish Open isn't it?
Why the difference?

The welsh always have to be different. Be grateful they have spelt it in English, and not some gibberish with too many constonants and not enough vowels.

Hilarious, yet predictable response.

I've no idea why it's different from the norm.

By the way, it's spelt consonant.

I seem to recall that when it went to Celtic Manor the Welsh Tourist Board or some such organisation wanted the tournament to advertise the whole of Wales rather then the fact it was just being held in Wales - hence the Wales Open rather than Welsh.

I don't know the answer but I have been down to watch this afternoon and it really shows the difference between us and them, they seem to take no effort when they swing, it's a lesson to try to learn.

Had a bit of a debate with myself as to the spelling, and then decided I didn't give a stuff. No one else seems to.

No need to have a debate with yourself Murph, just use the correct English language skills and spell the word correctly ;) :p
