Why is the players championship not a major?

You can argue the point about that as much as you like, I really don't care. The fact remains that if the event is taken to Portrush again it will still be the Open Championship, the Open or the British Open. Call it whatever you want, it's still the same tournament.

It's a fact, if you wanna be really pedantic, Northern Ireland is in the United Kingdom not Great Britain, that only consists of England, Scotland and Wales

It's not the British Open any year, but that doesn't stop the Yanks, and others, from calling it that. And they won't change when it's at Portrush either!

Great to see it's back at Portrush. I'm sure it will be a very special tournament!

Players was an excellent tournament. That 17th just has too much of an element of luck to me to elevate the show to what The PGA Tour promote it as. Great comeback by Furyk too!
