I've just read the whole thread and it's gone so far away from the original question I almost had to go back to the start!
The original question was why are long hitters hated.
The answer is they're not. It's just assumed that everyone over 250 overestimates how far they hit it so people who claim big distances are automatically liars.
Unfortunately, the few that genuinely hit the ball a long way are tarred with the same brush.
I also don't get the comparison everyone automatically makes to the pros. Sure they middle it more than the rest of us and have far better swings, but they're not swinging at 100%, nowhere near it I'd imagine. How often do you see amateurs trying to hit the ball hard and almost coming out of their shoes?
Pros aren't pros because they hit it a long way (although it helps on the courses they have to play), they are where they are because they can get up and down 7/10 (or whatever) from inside 100yds

One of the quotes in your opening post was from me. Sorry if you took it as having a go, I was just trying to say that it was possible because you're a low h/c with a fast swing speed.

Funnily enough I wasn't trying to prove a point, I think there's been enough irrelevant posts already trying to do that.
Bearing in mind what the original question was, all the replies saying "it means nothing" and to "practice the short game" don't really help to answer it.
The way I read it, the original post wasn't trying to prove anything, and anyone who plays off 1 probably has a pretty good short game already, although there's always room for improvement.
The last part of my post (apart from inviting golfstick to join the Beau list) was either poking fun at myself or trying to prove what a beast of a man I am for crashing the ball that far

It's obvious really. The biggest hitters on the Forum will be at Macrihanish in the spring. If they can drive over the Atlantic they are long

It's just as and when someone decides to organise one.
The ones I know of at the moment are Machrihanish in March (west coast Scotland), Beau Desert in May (Cannock) and Blackmoor in June (Hampshire?), plus some guys are talking about joining up in Newcastle.
