Why are cord grips so expensive?

For what its worth, I had the original tour velvets on my AP2's for 3 years no probs, playing at least once a week.
The R11S driver I got from the GM custom fit day (almost 2 years ago now) is showing signs of wear at the very top of the grip where the heel on my left hand contacts the grip. Id dare say a lot of practice or overly tight grip will cause accelerated wear though.
I found half corded grips ok in the summer, when they got wet they were horrible to hold onto.

So based in this you too would agree markgs is talking utter ball-axe

Right.

Found, what looks, a good cord grip, but in a wrap style.

Does anyone happen to know if:

a) You can build up wrap style grips with 4 layers?

b) Are wrap style grips any good?

Had golf pride 2g's on some wedges a whole back. Liked the shape of the grip but they were cack in the wet.

I think so :D

G, would you not be better looking for something mid size plus and go easy on the wraps?

Stock midsize grip is equivalent to a stock grip with 6 or 7 wraps.

If I find a Lamkin grip I like, I would only need 3 additional wraps which isn't too bad.

I'm still looking

G Man,
a) Yes you can but it may affect the feel of the grip as they are usually made of quite a spongy rubber (Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G springs to mind)
b) Yes and no. Not helpful I know. When new they tend to be nice and tacky and soft. First time they meet moisture... Say bye-bye to your club. Absolutely honking in the wet.

FWIW, Tour Velvet .580 ribbed is the closest you will get to the M-21 grips without being M-21's. It's also one of the best out there IMO with Crosslines. Not a big fan of cords as don't think they bring much to the party.
Did you not have BCT Blue's for a while?

I prefer corded in woods and tour velvet's in irons, but even so, as long as the grip itself is in good nick, it doesn't really bother me

To paraphrase the old blackadder sketch, look he has the hands of a woman.... I don't understand this cord grips are to hard, rough etc. I'm using male titleist permasoft glove in small. My job is desk, keyboard bashing and cord grips are fine. No calloused hands either - remember golf grip should be light. Cord helps me minimise pressure while having stability.
