• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

whos your team?

Agreed, Shanker. Always support any Scottish teams in Europe. Even those from Castle Greyskull

Springburn born and raised myself and nearly moved to Govan when young (but got lucky and moved to Nairn instead :D) Still have to wind the old man up that he switched from Rangers to Inverness CT.

Gutted Aberdeen didn't keep it going against Bayern. They played like a team possessed at Pittodrie.

Liverpool ever since I was a nipper and they played in red and white Hitachi breathable tops. Havent been over in 4 years though to watch them though once little no.2 has grown sufficiently, she will be staying at grannies an Ill take the wife over for a mucky weekend away!

Like Madandra, can no longer call myself a supporter as don't go to games anymore, just a fan of the game now. Used to go see St Johnstone every week and travel down to see Blackburn Rovers on the odd occassion but then decided time (and money) better spent on the golf course. Enjoy watching games on the telly regardless of who's playing but can't remember the last good game I watched. Far too defensive nowadays with too many teams scared of losing.

I'm another who used to go week in week out to watch the Hearts. Survived the fatefull 85-86 without too many mental scars, but its a different setup now completely. I've only been to a handfull of games since the Romanov Revolution came to town. Last one was a game at Murrayfield where it probably cost me more for one game for me and my daughter than it cost for the whole of that 85-86 season.

Right I'm off to the darkened room and that soothing whale music... who mentioned 85-86 ?

That was my first ever football top Brendy. I had it for years. I think it was 1980 cos I was still at primary school.
I had it too, long sleeved with red cuffs. I also remember the lettering not being very durable and peeling off.

i follow Celtic and liverpool, following liverpool has nothing to do with the closeness of the two teams, it was in the eighties and liverpool were the dominant in every competition and they had a fair few Scottish players,Nicol, Hansen,Souness,Dalglish, it started then and has continued

That was our primary school strip. I ALWAYS had to have No 7. Always.

Aberdeen, though haven't been to a game since 1991! Still living on the Fergie years 80-85! Do keep an eye out for their results though.
Not into football much anymore but enjoy the Champions League on tv when hopefully some decent football is played.
Am old enough to have mental scars from Argentina 78!

Hey Birdieman, want to borrow my whale music CD ? It's worked well helping me get over the trauma of the 85-86 season! may even help with.... Peru. There said it !

I too was caught up in the Argentina 78 hype and was soon brought down to earth that fatefull saturday night!

What was that guys name? Cubilas or something like that. Only goal he ever seemed to score was against Scotland!

1986 - Dens Park -I remember the name Albert Kidd and Jam Tarts fans slumped heads in hands weeping - maybe one of them was you?? :D

A week later I seem to remember our boys stuffing yours 3-0 in the Cup Final

I bet you're glad you can't remember the day Kilmarnock beat Hearts 2-0 at Tynecastle to clinch the league by 0.04 goals (1965). Just thought I'd share that with you.

Did any of you see the ''tackle'' on Saturday? I've only seen photos and it looks bad. I feel for Eduardo. What do the posters think?
