Who's gone UP the most this year?

I was a 'half the season' loser , went from 4.8 to 5.4 and looking at moving in to cat 2 :( managed to pull it round though and move in to the winners thread and down to 3.7 now

Only a couple more chances this year though including a midweek bash tomorrow morning

Got a cut the other week from 14.4 to 13.5 so still playing of 14, by the way got to the final of the knock out so hopefully will be getting another cut on general play, may be 2 or 3 shots should I win, happy days.

At the start of the season I went from 8.3 to 8.5, But I've since gone down to 5.3.
It's been my best season since I was a junior.

30th Dec 2009 I was on 8.9>>>>
came down to 7.0 by 11th April.

Decided that to get to my target of 5 for the year, my old swing was never going to get there, so had some lessons.........5 lessons later, ( 2 in june, 2 in July and one last night), I'm back up to 8.9!!!!!!!!! :(

Have to say though that lasts nights lesson was the best I have ever had......ever.
The hard work, (and money!!) is paying off and my swing and ball striking is now better than it has ever been. Yes it's been disappointing and it would have been easy to give up and go back to the old swing, which was obviously working, (it got me from 14 to 7 in 11 months).

I feel that I have a good chance to get to 5 now by this time next year. I have another lesson next Tuesday, (day before Beau Desert and my SFG tournament at Woodhall Spa the day after).

Last nights lesson was about creating more power and boy did it work!!!
Flying my irons easily 10 - 15 yards further than they have previously gone with a much better ball flight and more accuracy. :) :)

The danger is that my yardages will be messed up on the course for a while until I get used to the extra distance, but that's a small price to pay and shouldn't take too long to make the adjustments.

So a bit of a mixed year for me....some high's (made the scratch team :) ) ....and lows, (got dropped from the scratch team :( )

My bag is finally sorted....(honest!!), the swing is better than ever, and I can't wait for the handicap to start coming down again.......shame it's nearly the end of the season!!! :D :D

What's made the difference?

V.....ery good question.

Driving less wayward, more greens in reg', and of course, a slight putting improvement (of 3 putts per round).

Now I just need some good luck and I'll be sorted.

Great news Gil, pleased it's helping.

Smiffy, are you paying attention?
12 minus 3 = ?
Single figures :)

Started at 15.5 and I'm now 16.3 so up .8 I'm a little downbeat about it as at the end of last year I was playing some good golf. But with illness and the unmentionables I never seemed to get started this year. Lets hope I have a good winter as we run qualifiers throughout the year, so still cuts to come playing winter golf.
