Who is your favourite & least favourite player and why?

Like Justin Rose, especially for sticking around after a horrid time when new on tour. He could easily have disappeared but hung around and is going to be a top player for a long time. Also Paul Lawrie, achieving what he's done after turning Pro with a handicap of 5 is amazing, hopefully he's got some more wins in him.

Dislike? Nothing personal, but Jim Furyk. I just can't seem to support him when he's playing. I think it is because he takes so darn long over his putting + THAT swing shouldn't produce good shots ;)

For sheer spine-tingling excitement: Jack Nicklaus and Seve in their heydays were hard to beat. Strangely, despite his great success, I don't find watching Tiger as engaging. He just seems a bit too manufactured.

Least favourite: I always found Faldo to be dull as dishwater and agree with dodger that his commentary is poor.

Favorite would be one from VJ, Harrington, Westwood.

Least favorite would be one from Daly, Poulter, Sabatini.

All time favourite would be Jack Nicklaus growing up in the 70's and 80's he was like a God to me his win at the age of 46 at the 1986 Masters was one of the greatest moments of televised sports.

All time least favorite would be Faldo ever since his ball was kicked back on to that green in a competition sometime in the 80's I seriously disliked him, yes he was a great player but his personality was and still is awful.

Fav: Westwood - partially partisan as he's from my neck of the woods but good golfer. Deserves more than he's won and hope current form gets him stuff.
Least: Poulter - got to be something wrong with someone with that kind of trouser ideas.

Special mention to Rose. To be honest I forgot him. Same reason as Westwood really. He donated to my charity auction which endeared me but I was already a fan for the way he has developed and matured as a player. He is now competing regularly on the USPGA and had a sound season in the majors last year. I hope he can continue his development and eventually bring home a major

My favorite is Montie because of his loyality to the European Tour and because he prevails despite not being everybody's darling. Other favs: Ernie, Woosie & Calc (no I dont have a prominent belly)

Dislike Tiger because he is much too dominant, golf becomes predictable with him. Ben Crane and JBH see other postings

Rose for me as fav, least has to be hidden dragon, robotic tiger, mind you I love it when I hear the woods shout "gawd damnit" haha seem to hear that a lot this weekend ;)

Any one see that pitch from Ogilvy at the weekend, the 75 yard one tha hit the back of the hole?

Way back in the early 90's I watched as Montgomerie verbally lambasted a young mother because her child happened to cry as he prepared to putt in a very minor event at Royal Mid Surrey, she left the course in a flood of tears. :D I tackled him some holes later and he told me to "f*** off". Since then he has never rated high on my list.

On the other hand I have witnessed Sandy Lyle on numerous occasions hand over his ball to kids on the 18th. green. He is a real gentleman and a credit to the game

Least favourite has to be Daly can't stand his attitude and his constant withdrawal through "injury" at various events.
That and his "I'm not the only one on drugs" speech.
Favourite has to be Seve wasn't really into the game during his peak years but everytime I watched golf he was the guy to watch and i don't think anybody has really replaced him.

Fav : Has to be Jiminez, I love the way he struts around the course with his chest stuck out and cigar at the ready; just like you would imagine a back street Madrid knife fighter or Matador!

Least : Poulter, just nnnnooooooooooo to the clothes and attitude, wan**r!

Love to watch kj but he doesn't give anything away. Westwood is up there as is Jiminez for the same reasons as Dormie. Calc - and I do match his figure (but I have the better beard!) However my favourite will be the guy who steps up and takes on Tiger when he's winning.

Least favourites, Poulter (prat), Sabbatini (brat), Daly (wasted talent); anybody who says ' In da hole' or 'you da man'; the organisers who allowed Woods, Mickelson, Els etc to drop out of rounds of the Fedex (it was already a crap competition but that made it worse)

Seen a couple of articles and interviews with Simon Dyson and he seems a good bloke and someone whose game is improving.

Met Richard Boxall a few years back at a charity day. Got to say he was a really funny guy and very much like the way he is on screen with a wicked glint in his eye as he tells another story of his time on tour (funny enough Robert Lee and Mark Roe featured heavily).

I've told the story of Faldo and Lyle playing Royal Wimbledon a couple of Saturdays before they went to Augusta and Lyle went on to win. Just them, their caddies and 5-6 of us just walking round. They both took the time to chat, let us have a swing under their watchful eye and give us some tips. True gents!!!
