Who is this and what happened?

This one's harder. Tell me if you need a clue.

EDIT: There was a leader in the clubhouse (a major) and this short putt was to tie. That's not where the ball stopped, it went way past on the right.
Shoes give some clue to the date, but who used to putt with their hands so low?

Another change of tack. This is the first tee at which golf course and who, while a member there, was responsible for introducing something big in golf.

It is Came Down GC in Dorset. Samuel Ryder was a member there … he of Ryder Cup fame. The then club pro was in the first UK Ryder Cup team.

This is the late Hubert Green in the Masters that Gary Player won with a closing 64, coming from 7 shots behind (I think he played with a young Seve). Green led after the 3rd round, but missed that putt to force a playoff. Only other proper golfer I've seen with a similar putting stroke was Isao Aoki.
