Both the same. Although there are to many variables.
They both have access to the same gear etc.

Naturally Talented B or the one with the nice clubs A?
Following on from the talent thread:
Two golfers, both playing off a 10 handicap.
Player A plays with a tour model driver with a 440cc head, in a traditional shape. He has a set of blades, 2 to sw, and a bladed putter. He has a nice looking swing that is the product of coaching and hard work on the practice ground.
Player B has a 460cc offset square headed driver, 3 hybrids, a set of offset irons with massive perimeter weighting in 5 to sw, a chipper, and a putter that wouldn't look out of place on Star Trek. He has never had lessons, does not practice, and has a swing that looks like an octopus falling out of a tree.
Which is the better golfer?
The lazy git who doesn't bother to practice.
They are both the same being off 10. Doesn't matter who has the nicest clubs, they play to the same h'cap.
player A is only handicapping himself by using the gear he does, I know this because I have had similar set ups for the last 3 year's. Yeah your bag looks great, people admire it and so on, but end of the day the whole point of the game is to shoot the lowest score possible. And A being off 10 using the gear he does he's only limiting himself. Look at it this way, who would you rather play for money ? A or B ? Me being off the same handicap as these two I'd pick A all day long.

Not in the bag anymore, changed everything apart from the putter. Thing is with player A is if he can hit a 2 iron well enough to have it in his bag, he's either deluding himself thinking he's good enough to use it well consistently, or his short game and putting is woeful for him to be still off 10.Says the guy with Taylormade MB in his sig

Everyone who says "they are the same cos they have the same handicap" is deluding themselves - how is your handicap maintained, what are the calculations involved and how many rounds do you have to play to keep it current. etc etc
Under current calculations a handicap is a measure of your relatively recent best score. It has not indication of consistency in it whatsoever.
The Blade player with the 360cc head, got his 10 handicap on one day when it all clicked. It has never clicked like this before (and will probably never again) - he got there by shooting loads under his normal handicap, and it took 3 chip ins and a hole in 1 off of the rake on the side of the green.
The Super GI golfer, has been playing off 10 for 10 years, is highly consistent, and can be relied upon to play to that score or somewhere near it in match after match thereby being a key club player.
Don't believe all that simple measures tell you
If he's good enough to use a 2 iron regularly well, his ball striking much to top notch. So therefore to be still off 10 either his short game and/or putting must be woeful. And if this ball striking isn't top notch he will only wasting shots by keeping it in the bag. I've got a mate who is exactly the same as this, TM TP driver, tour 3 wood, 2 iron, 3-pw in blades. At times he can hit them all well but there is more times when he doesn't. Bag looks mint though. The games hard enough, why make it harder than it needs to be.So if he can hit a 2 iron well enough to have in the bag he is deluded?
it may well be - or it might not be
Nothing ever is simple
alternatively we could debate a simpler question "what is the meaning of life "?
