Who has won a 36 hole scratch comp?

Only asking as I've competed in hundreds over the years- hardly any now due to commitments- and the best I've done is leading after round 1 (only 3 times).

I've never come top 6 (prizes) as I totally blow one of the rounds.

So who has won one and how did you do it?

How did I do? I used to be a lot better than I am these days, had no fear and a short game to die for, oh how things change as your body falls apart and your mind plays tricks on you

Ha it was plus 6 on a day where hale ruined everyone elses round.

I still count it as a win, even if I was only one of three groups not to get practically battered off the course.

I have won 1, 20 years ago at my own club. My best achievement though is probably winning our scratch match play KO comp. 18 hole medal qualifier (which I had the best gross score in) where the top 16 go into a match play KO. Won that 11 years ago but have also lost in the final twice. Don't stand much of a chance anymore as we have 3 young lads that are plus golfers.

I won a couple - our club championship is 36 hole scratch and I also won the South West Counties Golf Association Senior Championship last year.

I've won 3 scratch 36 hole comps and came close to winning in the Lincs mid amateur one year led by 5 after first round 68 then had a mini meltdown on my 17th hole.

My Club Champs in 36 holes scratch and I've won that three times now. One of my goals this year is to finish Top 10 in a County Open event.

One second and two thirds. That was more than 9 years ago, pre-accident. I've tried the odd 36 hole comp a few times once I returned to golf but 18 holes is painful, and 36 is excruciatingly so.

We have one every year and I've won it a few times but it tends to have a small field. We've moved it later in the season this year in the hope of getting a few more entries.

I won the clubs champs at my old club a few times 15-16 years ago but with a field of 25-30 and only 10 in with a shout then its not worth talking about.

I've won our clubs junior championship, and come second in the main club championship twice. Also had top 5 finishes at county championship and county order of merit strokeplay events.

Long time ago...won about 4 or 5.........lowest score was 145.
Highest was about 155 on a really foul day.

0. Only played a few - 36 holers are near impossible to get a pass for...

I've won a few scratch prizes at home clubs for run of the mill stuff. Closest I've been in an open was probably 3-4 years ago. -3 through 9, and came back with a birdie, 4 pars, couple of bogeys, a double and a triple to finish 2 behind the winner... lovely stuff...
