Which tablet pc?

Well the temptation was too strong at the price and I bought a Playbook last night. So far the £129 seems like a bargain, easy to use, really solid feel about it, set up in minutes and plenty of room to store all of my music and photos etc.

Bob, are you up the range on Sunday, if so I will try to drop up and you can have a try.

Yeup.
I'll be finished teaching about 1.15 so will interested in seeing it in action.

Will see what time I finish playing. There is a 9 hole comp in the morning. If I am not there by the time that you have finished teaching then I will not be making it.

If you remind me of the app that you use I will try and download it ready.

I normally stay till about 2.30 anyway so no hurry.
And the App is here I think

Bob, I got the blackberry PlayBook today.it's cracking in every way BUT you can't get Google play on it. I have v1 on my phone and can't get it over to the blackberry. It's not why I bought it so not too bothered. Also the blackberry app store is simply crap to say the least, there's practically nothing on it.

Well I've had the playbook for 24 hours and am getting rid of it. I didn't think I'd miss Google play etc but I do. BlackBerry seem to have missed a massive trick,it even has bluetooth yet you can't transfer files from your phone (i would have kept it if you could). Otherwise it's a good price of kit for the price, but I'd think carefully what you want to use it for before buying

Have a look at the Ainol Aurora 2. Has Google Play Store and is very flexible in terms of the different files you can view on it. Cheap as chips and pretty powerful. Not as slick as the iPad but for less than 1/3 the price you can't argue. I use it with the Kindle App and watch a whole manner of videos on it.

Thanks guys, interesting feedback.
I feel a trip to Currys/Comet/ pc world coming on :)

Just saw an advt for Galaxy 2 at Argos.. £199 but with £50 cashback... may be worth checking.

Got my daughters replacement novo7 Aurora in the post today (short story is my daughter dropped it after a few days and smashed the screen, I sent it back for repair to china and they sent me a new one free of charge instead.. beat that trolley makers!!) It still amazes me that these can be had for less than 100 quid compared to the bigger boys.
Anyway, the LG IPS screen quality is fantastic and tried to capture that with a quick video, typically though photobucket half screwed it up with the audio sync.

And a pic with slight reflections from my ceiling.

With about 20 minutes worth of work you can run most android apps on the playbook. Just need to follow these instuctions

http://berrygeeks.wordpress.com/201...-android-applications-on-blackberry-playbook/

I have no tech skills and have Kindle up and running. After the set up it takes a couple of minutes to add each further app. Not sorted out Bobs's swing app yet but working on it.

I saw that but we don't have a pc. It broke so bought the playbook to replace it as we only need it for checking the bank ,surfing etc. I'm going for the google nexus. Don't get me wrong though, the playbook is a seriously good tablet,my wife loves it but it would be so much easier if it was google friendly. Still a great value buy, just not for me

Tablets come with wifi capability (your router at home, restaurants, airports etc), only some tablets have a built in 3g modem (wireless broadband on the go) ie the apple ipad range does come with it but you pay a lot of money extra for it and then you need to get a data sim from the likes of O2, Vodafone, 3 etc and pay a monthly scheme. Other tablets accept a mobile 3g dongle which simply plugs into the tablet but still works on the same sim card premise as the ipad etc.

Thanks Brendy, so am I right in thinking I could use a Tablet using my wifi at home and not have to buy any accessories,ie: does the Tablet come with a sim card or am I talking complete tosh?
