J_F, you might remember I finally gave in a bought a sat-nav to find Scotland about 17 months ago.

:) :)

I knew where Scotland was (little joke there) but wanted to be able to get around if necessary (like to courses and stuff.....)

It's a tom tom one with Europe and Ireland. Cost me about £120 and been 100% from day one and still going strong despite the fact that I can't be bothered to update and pay the money!!!!

It's looking like I'm vearing towards a TomTom then lads (see what I did there). The IQ ability and accuracy seems to be clinching it amongst those who've used it. I may have to add a wee bit cash to the ton to get a decent sized one which actually comes with a home charger (bit of a rip off from those suppliers who don't provide one) but buy cheap buy twice eh?

Thanks for all the advice. You are my pocket Wikipaedia and Google rolled into one in such matters.

Cheers. I've reserved a TomTom XL IQ from Halfords online. £146.99. Not too bad. Looking forward to playing with it tomorrow when I collect it.

Not bad. I emailed my wholesale co. (asking on my/your (?) behalf for the *best* price) and was quoted £139.99 for UK & I.

So, well done on getting such a good deal.....
