Of those that have recognised weaknesses, how are you going to change it or are you going to let the season play out and see if you can find some form?

Practice :D some lessons as well. Also bought a new 3wood (Cobra Baffler XL) which is a bit more forgiving and a lot easier to hit off the deck than the old one ... it has rails ... loving the rails.

I think my biggest problem is concentration for 18 holes.

I seem to have a spell in the game where I drift through about 3 holes where I am just hitting loose shots which, when I don't do so, I usually player better than my handicap.

Know what you mean. I've been given a tip to simply break it into six mini rounds of three holes. Each one their own mini round and supposedly a way of keeping the mind focus and should help if your course, like mine has a tricky patch. Not tried it and plan to give it a go in the match on Ssunday but can see the logic in it

Cheers Homer, I've heard of that before but I just seem to have a spell where I realise I've drifted through a hole or two and messed up, after that I sometimes mess up on one or two more trying too hard to redress the problem before settling back to normal.

I don't seem to have a major flaw in my game it's just a couple of bad things happening on a hole, but things I'm perfectly capable of executing with no problem.

I can't really pick one area as i'd say I'm decent at all of them. Driving tends to be a strength but all the others have room for improvement. I think practice has brought my short game and putting on a bit but only competitive golf and the associated pressure will show.

Hopefully just need to keep up the practice and all aspects of my game will be in good shape.

The thing I need to improve on is consistency this morning was a good example with the first 6 holes being bogey, bogey, par, birdie, double, double. That sort of scoring was fine was I was in playing the high teens but rubbish when playing off 10.
I have no idea how to fix it either as Idont know what I am doing wrong. Although I am sure I will have a few consistent rounds during the season, I know I will have far more with scoring patterns like today.

Driving for me. Consistency really. I'm not a huge hitter and that's fine, if i could straighten up some errant shots then i'll be happy with that

It used to be putting until I did a lot of practice over the winter. Mainly just starting it on line, so distance control could do with some practice

Aside from the short game, I need to lose the two car crash holes per round. Hoping to do some stuff on NGT and NLP again to concentrate better. Nothing too deep (for I'm a simple soul) but something to try and keep me focused on the job in hand all of the time I need to and can shut off between shots

I think STRATEGY should be an option up there, my biggest weakness is playing the hole wrong.

Discussed this maybe a month ago, at one of the courses i used to play i should use driver once in a round, but i actually used it without going through this again around 12 times total

Using driver once would eliminate lost balls straight off the bat and allow me to use the fairways sometimes too!

So no vote from me.

I was going to say pitching, but with decent strategy, pitching should become a very rare shot indeed

Driver for me, I've gone from full of confidence to cacking myself, I'm currently working with a new swing that's starting to pay dividends and restoring some confidence, if I drive well I score well, mainly my dropped shots are due to poor drives, if I can eliminate those as much as possible another cut will follow and Homer will be clearly in my sights 😜😎🏌

My driving is erratic. My putting is the best part of my game, albeit it has gone down hill recently. My fairway shots are OK one day, and crap the next. My pitching and chipping is terrible. All in all I am a pretty poor golfer, and don't really know why I even bother to play.

And so had a lesson yesterday evening to work out why I was s****ing it again. Well now I know. Just got to practice, practice, practice to get it out of my golf muscle-memory - and that is going to be hard.

Chipping without a doubt. The amount of times I either thin or chonk it during a round (especially under pressure) is ridiculous!

Puttin without a doubt. New swing has worked wonders on the long gane (can finally hit the driver!) and the new short game grip/stroke is working well.....
problem is ive negelected the flat stick too much. Does anyone use Aimpoint with their putting?
