Home: depends what you have played already... Queenwood if you find a way in Ailsa, Castle Stuart and Kingsbarns would be my options.

Save the time watching the clown on you tube and just take my word for it. Wolf creek is absolutely insane

However, knowing Gordon’s views on courses I’m not 100% sure it would be his cup of tea

Some great suggestions chaps keep them coming. Fortunate enough to have played many of the courses mentioned but a few I haven't considered. Pine Valley is my ultimate choice if I could find a way to get on!

Personally I would go to a course, where you can also play with three mates. Company just as important as the course in my eyes.
