Which Car do you Drive?

If you can find one at the right price a Toyota hybrid is the car to have. Average consumption mid fifties. I have to fold one seat down to allow the handle of the cart to fit with the large bag. I used to run a chauffeured car service and have driven some tasty cars in my time, but, I am impressed with this one I have now. Mind you I could be described as an OLD FART now.

I have a Lexus IS company car, which is a great car but I struggle with 2 sets and trolleys in the boot, so if it is my "turn" to drive I take my wife`s Qashqai, which has tonnes of room in the boot!

I drove for three hours, through thick snow to pick up my new, (it's a '97 but is new to me), soft top motor.
I then drove for three hours back home, (with the roof up obviously), and loved every minute of it. It's noisy, uncomortable, windy & it leaks in one or two places ........................... but I LOVE IT.
And it will comfortably accomodate four golfer with bags, trolleys & just about anything else you'd need to take.
I'm off to Scotland in it in June and I can't wait.

I'm yet to read through all of the replies.... But I am the only regular golfer I know who drives a Smart. When I purchased it I even took the clubs along to make sure they went in the back. I can even get two sets and two trolleys in at a real push!

My regular golf partner sometime turns up driving his wife's Smart.
He's 6 ft 3", and I guess weighs ?18 stone.
Interesting seeing him getting in and out of it!

You be very surprised how much you can fit in a Smart. Great buzzing around town. Only thing that was dangerous and hoping its been rectified since, was the turbo lag. It was a lottery when pulling out of junctions/roundabouts........

Nothing nothing nothing ....still nothing and then BOOM, bit of a neck snap......:D

Sounds like an MGF to me

Just got myself a 1 series. Its ideal although the driver doesn't fit in the boot. My clubs, trolley and holdall all do. Driver gets to ride in the back.

If I need too the seats fold down and accommodate everything. Perfect for what I need as I don't do a lot of miles. The most it'll do is Machrihanish and back once a month.

I have an 03 Volvo S80 D5......petrol here is gone stupid expensive so i picked the Diesel S80 up for 2500 euros......Iv only an 8 mile round trip to work but im usually only sticking in 30 euro a week to it and that with a trip up to the club twice at the weekends which is q 50 mile round trip......
The boot is Huge but not nearly as big as my last Volvo....A V70 which i loved but being 13 years old it had its work done and was drinking petrol at a stupid rate being a 2ltr Turbo......

As i speak my shillings are being saved up for a Volvo XC70 D5 though......I prefer my Estates....With 2 kids and a 15month old Bullmastiff i need the space....... As you can see i like Volvo's...Safe as houses and cheaper to buy than the equivalent Audi or BMW or Mercedes......And a hell of a lot more reliable.....

Did I ever think to remove the driver and woods to fit the bag square in the boot of the Qashqai ? No, I have been putting them on the back seat much to HID annoyance. Shall I try removing the driver next time ? Might do.:o

My current car's a Fiesta, but with taking up golf my car just doesn't have enough boot space, so I'm considering buying something with a larger boot. I don't drive many miles, working within 4 miles of home, so I'm not looking for anything too big.

Have any of you guy's gone out and bought a larger car just for your bats etc? Also, which car do you drive?

I drive a 1982 cortina estate 2.0l. Its two tone gold and beige. Its massive and you could probably play golf in the back of it, have a look out for one

If i knew how to put a pic up i would if anyone could pm me there email address i can send it to them and they could hoist it for me?
