That's a great shout. I remember them as being massive, my uncle worked for them in their Winnington Park plant, I think I've remembered the name correctly. A company you couldn't imagine not being around.

I worked for them for 27 years in their Chlor Alkali business, including at Wallerscote, opposite Winnington. (Have you looked at what the Winnington Laboratories are being used for now? ).
I was lucky enough to work in the Export department, so travelled to different parts of the globe to visit them. ICI was well known in all the old Pink Parts of the world (Old British Empire areas for those who don't know). When I joined, I saw it as a job for life. How times have changed.

Top Flite is one from the Golf World.
Back in the early 90s they supplied Ryder Cup players, Order of Merit winners and the like....we all know what they mean now.

Top Flite were Spalding and the ball part of Spalding was sold to Callaway so one could argue they are still up there.

They also seemed to be a good company to work for too. Back in 1988, we had a UK Tennis Umpire stay with us for a WTA tournament (where I umpired an unhappy/grumpy Annabelle Croft) who, from the look of his house, was not particularly senior, but was on some sort of paid sabbatical from ICI. The research area near where I lived also had a team in the same Cricket league as us.

Always gutted when the latest release was all out tho ?
Same with physically buying a album when it was released.
Doesn’t feel the same getting it on Spotify.

Sky won’t be going anywhere- they have a huge market share and diluting the sports into multiple pay channels won’t work overall

They are online only, bought by the Boohoo fashion group, ask a young person?. They have no high street presence now, all of their stores are closed. I used to like Debenhams, it is a miss that they are not there.

Likewise Top Shop and Top Man…and you might also add in Gap - though they might actually have gone completely - like Woolies.
