Which Brand Has Dropped The Furthest

Blackberry phones
That has to be a candidate for #1 of modern era as the concept (mobile phone/messaging +) hasn't changed, but the company/concept has simply been superceded.
The company (RIM) is still going and there are apparently 10s of millions of Blackberry phones still being used worldwide. Their major area of business is, as it always has been, secure comms - the handsets were/are merely ways to do the comms! Turnover of about 1Bn$US and Profit about 130M$US
Perhaps they never had the vision about mobile phones that others did, or simply too much inertia/focus on their core USP.

My old company ICI (Imperial Chemical Industries). Once an FT100 company, offices all over the globe, one of the major chemical companies in the world and disappeared off the face of the map due to bad management. Some of the businesses still exist (Chlor-Alkali to Ineos, Paints to Akzo Nobel, Pharamecuticals to Astra Zeneca for example) but so sad to see.
They still pay my pension on time.

One of their big sponsorship deals was

I still have the model that Nigel Mansell presented to ICI Fibres staff.

I'd add M&S to that. They always had decent suits and shirts and clothing. Went into my local store and thought the suits were made of very cheap feeling material and a lot of their other clothing seemed very expensive for what it was. They always had a certain reputation (my mum swore by them) and now I am comfortably middle aged and can be seen to be shopping there I'm always underwhelmed
luckily for me I know longer need suits

I still buy their chinos but we are fortunate in that we have a branch of their clearance and bought for retail outlet stores in a town nearby.
Certainly very overpriced compared to other retailers selling similar (bought from abroad) stock.

AOL

everyone used to have them.. then now if you still have one its only worth keeping to save the hassle of changing emails

Yep, I have an AOL email, why change at my age. I would only get confused.

My wife has one. Over the last 10 years we have slowly moved her to Gmail , not all at once but changed the important stuff to Gmail and left AOL for stuff she isn't worried about

Like you say it's more of a pain to move

My parents have bt email , they wish they had never bothered and just got a free Hotmail or whatever account because now they don't want to leave bt as they have to change their email or pay bt to keep it
