Where would your ideal Scottish Open venue be?

This week we're off to Renaissance for the Scottish Open which it's fair to say wouldn't be in the top three courses in the local area or the top 20 of many rankings in Scotland. In an ideal world, away from logistics, where would you like to see the Scottish Open be staged? I'll start the bidding with Royal Dornoch which, without the need to accommodate fans etc, would make a sensational stage for its national Open?

Carnoustie partly because I will think it will be a long time (if ever) before it gets an Open Championship again - also we could get John Philp back to trick it up like 1998 and pay Bryson his appearance money - that would sort out the distance arguments.

Why would it be off the rota? Crowds?

alas its just too short to test the best players, played behind Scott Hend a couple of years ago who shot 68 with 4 lost balls from the back tee.

Royal Dornoch would be good as it might be their only chance to hold a big event at the moment due to no crowds.
