Thursday Medal today, and despite snatching defeat from the jaws of Victory lots recently, AND having a sore back, I met a buddie at 5.30pm for a game.

Calming conditions, and despite a very heavy shower after 3, I went out in 41, (+6), and was 'content' with that.

The back 9 has been my god-damned achiles heel recently, just had a mare more than I can recall, so to throw in a 1 over Par 36 came right out of the blue !!

Gross 75, 12 H/C = Nett 63.

Par is 68, CSS 'normally 69, altho today probably 68, so my 11.6 should come down by exactly 1 full shot to 10.6, or 10.4 perhaps, tomorrow will tell.

Cant quite beleive it !

Strange really - as I feel slightly 'bad' if I have 'won' the Medal - our lowest H/C player at the Club was just walking off the 18th as I started, having shot a Gross 65, Nett 64, which will bring him down from 0.7 to Scratch.
Gross 65 is simply unbelievable at our place, and deserving to win !

No need to feel guilty at all. You played superb golf and will get your rewards in terms of the prizes and the handicap cut. When I was +5 gross (off 13) on the 16th tee and looking for around a 78 (net 65 -5) I wasn't worried about the guilt. The fact that I couldn't keep my ball in the same postcode over the last three holes made it anti-climatic but if I got in the same position again guilt would be one of the emotions I'd have.

Sit back and savour your fine performance. They don't come around very often so enjoy it.

Great scoring - who cares where it came from, just make sure you hang on to it!

Just totted up, - I think 28 Putts was the key !! (No 3putts )

I wouldn't feel even the slightest bit guilty, you played out of your skin, just like the other guy did....it just so happened you played slighty more out of your skin than he did lol
