Had the £70 deal at The London Club with my cousin. We were treated like VIPs. Sadly the deal finished at the end of March, but it's a place where paying full price would surely be worth it.
Have to say Littlestone, not so much by the staff but by the members who couldn't have been more pleasant. They were proud of their course and were genuinely pleased that we had travelled to play there, they even bought us a pot of tea which was a nice touch.
Sadly when I think about it I found it easier to name clubs where I have not felt welcome.
I hate this false 'american welcome' you get from some of the newer clubs.
No I clean my own clubs and shoes thank you and I am not in my dotage so I can park my own car AND manage to walk the 200 yards to the clubhouse and no I do not want to spoil my game by riding around in an OAP's and fat boys buggy.
Tyrells Wood was a blast from the past for me. did you drive the 1st after getting the line?
I had a chat with the 'Girvan Lighthouse' [AKA Peter McCloy] a couple of weeks ago. He is still as fit as a flea and looks like he could replace Shugger when he leaves Rangers.
In recent times Dundonald and Stranrear have made me fell genuinely welcome
Saunton was great, the Pro gave me plenty of tips, none of which particularly helped. The members were very friendly whe I was having a quick drink after the round, whilst waiting to be picked up. Woburn was fantastic and well worth a visit.
I played at Muirfield a couple of years ago through the SGU £240 for a fourball. Unlike a lot of people I thought the course was just ok but the welcome from all the staff was first class. The best weekend I have ever had was when we stayed and played at Royal Lytham again it was a few years ago but I would love to play it again.I have played Turnberry a few times and in my opinion the full package of the course, the views, and the welcome is very hard to beat.
