Had a spare couple of hours this morning so went up the club, pretty quiet so got on about 10.30, just planning to play 9.Just me, No pressure, felt good

First hole par 4, 382 yds SI 5, 7 iron lay up, 20 degree hybrid to greenside right, 15 yard chip to 4 feet, 1 putt. Par 4 points

Second par 3 131 yds SI 17 , 8 iron to 15 feet 2 putts, Par, 3 points

Third Par 5 478 yds SI 11.Drive, 7 iron , PW to 10 feet, 2 putts. Par 3 points

Fourth, Par 4 456 yds SI 1 240 yd Drive, 20 Degree Hybrid to 2 feet,1 putt for birdie and 5 points (the drive and second shot were witnessed by the green staff)

5th, Par 3 205 yds SI 7, duffed the drive. PW to 4 feet, 1 putt. Par 3 points

Etc Etc

I double bogey'd the 9th for a 6 for 2
to give a card of 1 over gross, 29 points for 9 holes and a shell shocked Fragger wondering how that happened, where it came from and can I do it again tomorrow? and at the stableford on Wednesday.

I just relaxed, didnt think too much and didnt try to hit the ball hard.

Just feels so good to know that I can do it
lets hope the golfing Gods smile on me just a tad longer

I was also using a Callaway Diablo HX ball that behaved supurbly, I might just buy a few
 
That's some good shooting, well done mate :) if you keep dping that your handicaps gonna come down like a rocket :)
 
Similar thing happened to me last year Phil....
And not to rain on your parade but its damn hard to reproduce....

The only piece of advice i could give you is to try and play on your score from today when you have a card in your pocket for the comp...

Confidence breeds confidence so if you can revert back to how confident you were this morning and how just going out and knocking the ball around then you never know...It might strike twice in the same place. ;)

Nice one. Keep the same mind set as today. You will do it no problem. Remember you've done it once. So just relax and let it flow.
 
WTF!!!! I'm sorry but did the rest of you guys actually read this post. Fragger who plays off 23 was -1 gross after 8 holes. And +1 gross for the front nine. BTW did I mention he plays off TWENTY FECKING THREE!!!

That is absolutely sensational shooting fella and I only wish you'd had the time to complete a full 18 holes. Really hope this is not momentary blip and that the handicap is on the verge of going into free fall. Very, very, very well played. I salute you!
 
Well done matey. Anywhere near that sort f form tomorrow and bro will need miracles. Maybe he was saving himself for your grudge match and didn't want to use all the good ones up at the Grove

Fragger has a habit of stringing together some good holes. I remember we played Matchplay once. Giving 16 shots at the time I parred holes 7,8,9 and 10 - would have given me 10 stableford points - and lost them all as LaughingBoy parred them too - would have given him 13 points.

He'll play an "easy" hole atrociously and then par a tricky one. There's no knowing what he's going to do next - except slice it into "Fragger's Bay" on the 13th - that's a given....

It's on the cards the way I played Wednesday.....

But I feel that my form has just got off the plane from another 2 week break, refreshed and ready to wreck havoc with Low-Boy Fragger....I hope
