Falling out of love

It's happened to me over the years and expect that it may have done to you too.

I'm talking about that club we once loved. Every time we picked it up we nailed it. We couldn't imagine a game without it by our side. Together we could take on the world. We were unstoppable.

Whether it was 'the big dog', a 5 wood, a putter perhaps, or maybe a simple sand wedge. It was our go-to bat for the situation and it always did the biz.

So tell me this...

Why is it now sitting in our odds and ends bag out in the garage? We haven't taken it out on the course for maybe two years because quite frankly it's let us down. We thought we could trust it but little by little it starting playing bad shots. Missing the fairway, topping the ball and continually lipping out on the green.

Turned out that it was in fact nothing but a treacherous monster, just a snake in the grass after having first wormed it's way into our affections...

Ermm...

Has as this ever happened to you and who (what) was the culprit)?

Re: Falling out of love

My word you love a thread.

And to answer the question, no. It's never the club.

i do, I do. Probably just because I'm still pretty new round here. Three weeks from now I'll be nowhere to be seen and just lurking around dipping in and out occasionally. :ooo:

the relationship breaks down, as with all relationships, when instead of accepting it for what it can do for you you start to try and find out exactly how far you can push it....and you can never come back from that :(

Re: Falling out of love

I rarely use my 3 wood anymore, not because it behaves badly. It juts fell out of favour for my 2 rescue clubs.
