I don't want to buy any clubs or be fitted for any (no money syndrome) but I'd like to see my current stats... where/how can I get on a trackman 'just for fun'?

google it and see if it comes up with anything.

that's how i found scott gourlay,a bit far for you but i'm sure there will be plenty down your way.

James, you could try Golf Principles in Basingstoke, their website mentions trackman.

Sherfield Oaks is just up the road so if you're around for a game let me know.

Actually James I got it slightly wrong it's World of Golf that has the trackmans at their ranges not AG, I think AG have shops at World of Golf ranges.

Having worked on Trackman and some of the others, in my opinion Trackman is head and shoulders the leader in the field. Mizuno at World Of Golf were using such old technology that i would doubt the results.

I fancy doing similar session did a couple of googles and found a list of places using trackman and also flightscope x there was a thread debating these 2systems before Xmas the going rate seems to be £30 an hour but have seen up to £60 but also free half hour test.

6 mths ago they were using trackman at the Clydebank WOG (closed now) was it a different one?

Yes the measuring device was an old device, I am pretty sure it was an old flightscope or similar. The old one calculates the distance, spin and shot shape from calculations at impact, whereas Trackman uses missile technology and actually tracks the ball from strike to landing, so that all the stats are real.

I understand that many of the worlds pro golfers have invested in one.

JO, just been to WorldOf Golf driving range in Croydon and while I was there asked about a track man session for you. According to the guy in there, it's the cost of a standard lesson, but you must advise when booking tht you want a track man lesson and not a conventional one.

Lesson costs are

60mins
Master pro £49
Teaching pro £42

30mins
Master pro £29
Teaching pro £23

Telephone number 0208 656 1690

Wull, what did you use Scott Gourlay for, he ain't that far for me and I think I may look at loft and lie check and goon the trackman.

I don't know what stats the others record? If they're as good as trackman then anything will do. Thanks for the ideas so far guys.

The reason I asked is that I'm guessing you won't want it as part of a lesson, but just have it to yourself for a while.
If you only want things like club speed, ball speed, carry distance, club path and face angle an indoor simulator might be ok. One of those 'corporate activity' type things.
There's one about an hour away from me I'm tempted to go to. They charge £10 per person for the first hour, then £5 per hour per person after that.

You can just use a simulated range, or play any number of courses that are loaded onto the machine.
I know it's not real golf I'd just want it for the stats and carry distances for my irons.

thats what he said at the beginning:lol:

WOG have 4 bays that you use just for fun, no lessons just you and your stats
