As winter grows near and the season comes to a close, what's your plan of action to make next season THE season

I have 3 goals for the winter up at the range :

- Get to know my new 3 wood - Thanks again Lump! (Aiming to use more for short Par4 lay-ups and into some Par5's)
- Dial in my distances with my new wedge split ( recently moved from 50 & 56 to a 52 & 58)
- A couple of short game lessons to improve accuracy and consistsency of shots from the fringe (want to develop a consistent set-up & stroke for these shots)

What you planning - tweaks or full reconstruction surgery ????

I have done most of the major reconstruction over the course of the summer  So I am hoping it will be just a few tweaks and some practice with that.

Will be out on the course pretty much every weekend unless closed. I am not one for hours on the range.

WHAT?

My what? Never heard anything so stupid in my life, no doubt mine will involve putting on the carpet and watching the rain lashing down outside or digging the car out of the snow if last year is anything to go by!

A couple of lessons and hopefully some solid consistant practice sessions on a regular basis.

I don't do winter play, can't stand winter greens and playing off mats when on the fairway, seems pointless and tells you nothing about you game.

So it'll be practice at the range and plenty of exercise to get fitter and more flexible. Not just for the golf but to improve my general fitness levels over all.

Cheers
Dave

rest, have a niggling shoulder problem, so going to try and get about 8 weeks or so without swinging a club! :0

Not sure if it will help, but the weather is prob gonna be awful here, so I should have plenty more chance to rest than practice!! lol

Time on the range, more lessons and hitting the gym big time. Like someone else has posted, want to work on my flexibility and general overall fitness. Probably some more time on the range as well as well as playing as often as the weather and course allows oh, and probably some more time on the range.

Craw - its what Winter Wednesdays are made for...100 bawz on the range then inside for Pakora, a pint and Champ league fitba on the big screen !! (Dreaming of summer !)

Funny you should ask, I'm in two minds.

Having not played consistantly for a while, my swing is rusty as shed screws.

I'm in two minds. Practice what I used to and get it back fairly quickly. Or completely rebuild?

Won't do anything drastic till after Goswick.

I actually need to play more golf than practice, and if I could choose any area to practice it would be short game but with the nights getting dark early and the weather it's going to put a huge dent in those options.

So I'll work on my long game at the range, play some pretend rounds at the range and play on the course whenever I can.

Practice......whats that ?
I play golf for fun and enjoyment, practice is something that people who play the game for a living do.
I'll be hoping for resonable weather at the weekends,so i can get on the course as much as possible.

Two nights a week at the range, keep the swing going and try to master the 3wood stinger shot.

Might also have a go at changing grip from interlock to overlap, easier on the joints.
