Whats your natural shape shot...

3% seems low to me though......

Yes, like all statistics it's presumably based on "everyone" that plays, including one-a-year and corporate types.

I bet if you picked the top 100 in my club and put them on a range to work out the more likely shot shape, quite a few (more than 3!) would be push/draw players.

Yeh but I bet if you took the worst 200 from your club you would be hard pushed to get you 3% then and that's not including the ones in the middle.

based on the replys it seems so far its around a 92% draw, i understand this is a very small portion of people but well seems a big step up from 3%.

Draw with the irons and a fade with the driver.

I dont know why but I find I can control a fade more than a draw with the driver, and I struggle to hit anything other than a draw with the irons.

You'll also be surprised with the % of forum members that can hit it over 300yds! :D

OHH I CAN I CAN!! That one 300 yard drive I hit last summer with the wind behind on the warmest day of the year on the most downhill hole on my course is what I always recall as my "standard" drive.

My natural shot shape is a draw, I have a flat swing so it suits, I spent last year trying to get a consistant fade in the bag, but new irons, and back to draw! Still early in the year though!

Before i had a couple of lessons back end of last season i could only hit a draw. Now can shape the ball much better. Even started to hit a few fades on Saturday to reach some tight pins at Brora and to ride the wind.

When i started playing i had an awful slice but worked on my swing to get rid of it.

up until october a draw that sometimes turned into a hook. I got so fed up with the violent bounces through the summer that ive worked on it all winter.

Now i tend to have either straight or a very gentle fade, but knowing the faults means i can pull a snap hook out the bag when needed.

I naturally hit a draw, but am managing to calm it down a bit these days!

Used to be a seriously horrible slice, especially with my driver but over the last 9 months or so with lessons i tend to hit a controlled fade or straight. My bad shot with a driver is still a big high slice out of bounds that happens if i don't stay over the ball at impact and pull up and out of the shot but i know how to fix it and if i have to play another off the tee 99% of the time i'll hit it nice and straight or with just a tiny fade.

Also have a habbit of cupping my left wrist a little on my back swing which opens the club face a little and causes me to loose it abit right at times but slowy fixing that with my pro on my last couple of lessons.
