My current driver.....been in the bag since 2006. I'm not the best driver of the ball but I still haven't found one I can hit better. Conclusion......it's me not the club so why change.

LOL, I am the biggest hypocrite of all time. I answered this question by saying my £4.50 Callaway Great Big Berther Hawk Eye is my favourite club, and now I just bought a new driver. In my defense, I just picked up a mint condition Taylormade R15 for £65, so how could I say no. I will keep the Callaway for a while though, just in case. I will therefore now change my choice, but give you two clubs. Whilst I have a new set of Benross Irons, a good putter, Callaway 3-5 woods, my two best clubs are 4 and 5 Dunlop red hybrids. They feel and perform brilliantly. I am hoping my new driver takes over, but who knows ?

For me it has to be my putter considering that a very personal preference type of thing. My Scotty Cameron JAT putter has always been in my bag for around 12 years or more now.

My ping g15 5 wood. Misses got it for me for our first anniversary and since day one it has been an outstanding club to have. Out the light rough.. Off the fairway.. On a long par 3 or if I'm just struggling off the tee I bring this 5 wood out to bring normality back to the game.
After yesterday it's my putter and all previous misdemeanours forgiven. Putted wonderfully and every putt had a chance

i've had a few which I thought were the best thing since sliced bread but then I pick up a mag and am like a magpie being drawn to new shineys!
But if I had to choose I'd say TM Rescue mid was a game changer and also the v steel fw's

The MacGregor Golden Bear persimmon driver which my dad gave me. It was the first full size driver I owned.
The shades and colours in the head were mesmerizing and the amber Golden Bear insert in the sweet spot was the coolest thing ever
The electrical tape around the hosel just added to its appeal.
In recent times it was the Nike SQ Machspeed Driver - Black Edition. It looked mean and moody and it went like a bomb...should never have sold it.

Used to love my sand wedge. Could get lovely spinny shots round the green. Now that I've had lessons and been working on my swing I can't seem to get those shots any more and I tend to thin them with that club. Meh.
As a junior, my first clubs included a Wilson Sam Snead persimmon 4 wood. I absolutely loved it. I could hit it as far as most of my mates hit driver and was deadly accurate with it. There was an added advantage that I could strike it well off the deck and, for a time, I was able to shape it both ways.
If that sounds too good to be true that's because there's a whole generation out there who have never hit a persimmon headed club. Much easier to control in my experience than new technology. There's no way on earth I could (deliberately!) shape my current 3 metal both ways.

I had a Wilson Billy Casper putter from the early 1970's until the casting broke around 2004.
It was like losing a family member.

My Mizuno Mp32's.
Why I ever stayed away from blades I'll never know. Their the best thing I've ever had. And what I love about them is the rounded leading edge. It's perfect for My swing because it rarely digs in. And whoever said their not forgiving needs to spend time with them. High on the face is probably the worst. But rarely looses more than a few yards distance.
I think G.I. irons have their merits but I remeber Bob saying a long time ago. Pick a head you like. Get a shaft that suits your swing and practice....

Nike covert 5 wood is my go to when all else fails on the tee.
And my Scotty. Wanted it since i started playing and it hasnt let me down!

Taylormade Burner 4 hybrid. So easy to hit. My new Acer XDS React 6 and 7 hybrid are growing on me too. Moving to more hybrids has really helped the confidence and enjoyment.

The pitching wedge from my first set of irons close to 30 years ago. Saved up and bought some Mizuno Astron irons and thought I was the bees knees.
I practiced constantly with the PW for chipping round the green and it was a strong reason why I got down to a handicap of 6. As much as the club, wish I had the time for hours on the course chipping and putting as I did as a young lad.....happy days.
