Afternoon all,

I know we've done this before but what is the most annoying shot/mistake you can make. I must have duffed 6 chip shots yesterday in my round of 30 points - so you know where my vote is going!
Pick one from the list below

I'd agree with HTL and MWJ, the knifed chip is not a good one. Normally always followed by the duffed chip as you try to not to knife again!

Sliced drive for me, once they start I know its going to be a long round and leave me more up tight then I was pre round. I even thought of buying a 16* hybrid to tee off with yesterday!

SHANK
Simply because it comes out of nowhere and disappears as quickly as it crept up. My final game of the winter Society within our club was totally ruined because I had this thought in my head from the previous Saturday where I shanked an approach after a good drive then thinned the third through the green and into a house.
Once its in there its worse than the yips, I dont fear them, I just dont understand how I can hit the very occasional one and not have a clue how I did it, ie did I stand too close, did I have a bad swing path, did I move closer to the ball etc
The good old addage is spot on, paralysis by analysis.

Yep, shank gets my vote too. Never know when it is going to strike next. Card wrecker.

Hardest shot in golf? The one after a shank.

Duffed chip, fluffed chip, smuffhed flip. Arghhhh I HATE them sooooo much.

I am suffering these at the moment.

I like to think I have a tidy short game but every now and then, these creep in and wreck a potentialy great card. On the odd occasion I go for the par 5's in 2 I am usually chipping on.

Last week, I did it at our 16th, I was on for breaking 80 for the second time. I had gotten close with a 3 wood and only had a bunker to fly with plenty of green to play with. Usually I would fancy getting to within 6 feet for a birdie putt, tap in par at worst. I duffed 3 chipps 1 foot each!

3-putt isnt "a shot" so not going for that.

For me it is the knifed chip that goes 60 yards through the green. They really do give me the hump.
I agree with the knife. It usually happens when you're already close to the pin, and a flop of some sort is being attempted, only to find yourself much much further away than when you started.

I've gone for top off the tee, just ahead of duffed chip.

For me, there's nothing worse than a ball going abut 5% as far as you had planned - but with the duffed chip, at least you have a chance of holing the next one (likewise the knifed one), whereas if you top your drive, you probably have 400yds left (out of thick rough!) and have wasted a shot.

Plus, the confidence effect is as bad as missing a 4 foot putt for me. If I dont get away well on the first, I may as well go in the clubhouse there and then most weeks.

Sliced drive for me. T'was the bain of my life until it turned into a slight fade, but one occasionally creeps back in.

Can we have a poll on 'THE MOST DIFFULT SHOT IN GOLF" please i.e.

1. Ball below the feet
2. Ball above the feet.
3. Fairway bunker.
4. Greenside bunker.
5. Putts over 25ft
6. Double breaking putts.
7. Being able to Draw or Fade at will.
8. Being able to hit it Low or High at will.
