What's the difference.........

It was 4-4 matey. Remember it well. Dave Lancaster scored 2 for us and Steve Norris got 2 as well. Lancaster was rubbish how he got 2 against you I will never know, Norris however was a deadly lower league striker, best forward I have seen at CFC until Kevin Davies and Jack Lester arrived on the scene. Snake pass is a deadly road isn't it any sign of bad weather and avoid like the plague. Your lot won 4-1 in the replay at Saltergate with a certain Ian Rush being amongst the scorers as well as a young Jamie Redknapp, seeing Redknapp on the pitch was a collectors item as well:)

I think I could have scored 2 against us, in them days. Cracking game at Anfield though.

Yes it has been rumbling on for a while now. What capacity are they looking at?

Anything between 60-70,000 (would say go for 75k, myself), although they are also looking at extending Anfield as a possible option up to 60,000.

I am a traditionalist, but on this occasion would prefer a new stadium, as long as it's big enough. We wont sell out midweek league games, but will sell out any weekend ones.

What's the point in this?

Unless the pricing is realistic and nowhere near the £50 its currently flirting with then what's the point of having a half empty stadium every other week.

Also the great European cup nights that I've experienced juventus, olympiakos, chelsea real madrid, inter Milan etc etc will never be the same in a souless bowl shaped stadium that's built primarily for corporate purpose rather than the local kids/ working man.

All of the new stadiums in this country lack that feel and character of football. Wembley for example, looks great but the atmosphere is nowhere near that of the millennium stadium.

I HATE MODERN FOOTBALL!

After seeing the ones the previous yanks designed I thought it was boss. I dont want a crappy stadium though like the identikit ones that Southampton/Derby/Sunderland have (3 sides the same, one 2 tier main stand).

There are other things like:-

No exec boxes in the Kop.
Fair pricing
No running track, stand tight to the pitch.

Plus more.

However Stu, if having 100 exec boxes means my season ticket being £7-800, or no exec boxes and my season ticket costing £1,200, I know which one I want.

There is a balance to be had, and LFC have been 'cobbling' a stadium together for nearly 50 years now, without any foresight. Out of the top European clubs, we have a chance to build a stadium to be proud of, wouldn't you like Anfield to hold a champs league final, or UEFA final? Fair play to Man U, it has taken them 30 years, but they have had an overall plan to extend the stadium, and it has worked.

I am a luddite for most things, but want a new Anfield (as longs as it has a good design, and increases capacity to over 70,000). Either that or have a 20 year plan, and do it stand by stand, but that normally means reductions in capacities while the new stands are built.

Extra seats just means more daytrippers.

As for holding a European cup final there, it wouldn't benefit us in the slightest as uefa are the 3rd biggest gang of touts behind FIFA and the fa when it comes to tickets.

I can't see the need for a bigger stadium and would much rather spend £300mil on players than build something we'll only sell out a few times a season. As for corporates do you really think we'd sell 100 boxes a season?

As long as they get it right, it may even bring the price down. Thats what happens for carling cup game, they make the tickets £20 instead of £40 to sell out.

I would love it with 60,000 scousers in, but it isn't going to happen. Ok, I wouldn't want 10,000 scousers and 60,000 daytrippers, either. We will sell out a 60,000 seater stadium on weekends for 75% of the games, as long as pricing is right, and hopefully the scousers who can't be arsed now, may get off their arse and go to 5-6 games a season.

Don't kid yourself fella the only people that will pay for the new stadium would be us.

Look at the price of FA cup final tickets or Arsenal's ticket prices, it's not the owners that are footing the bill it's the fans.

Dont think you would fill the stadium at 75,000 that often myself TBH be better spending it on the team wisely this time not like Kenny's last splurge. Can only see Man Utd filling 75,000 out against the likes of Wigan, Stoke, West Brom and Wolves etc. 60,000 at a push but even then I would have my doubts apart from the top few matches

I'm not so sure, the population of norway must run to a few million, so we should be ok.
