What's the best golf tip you've ever had?

Actually see the club hit the ball. None of that visualisation claptrap.

Visualise the shot though.

But seeing the club hit ball does good things for strike and balance - and keeping the head under control. I make sure I see the grass under where the ball was, which works for Putting as well.

good tip which promotes keeping the head at or behind the ball. Works extremely well for chipping, something Gary Player has shouted about for decades!
 
The only thing you will learn from stopping at the top of your backswing and looking at your hands is a) How many gloves you are wearing and b) which hand it is on.
