• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

What's on the agenda?

A few beers with the lads, then home about 11,its not been a
good year to be honest, losing both my brother and sister to
cancer..but as they say no one gets out alive,Cheers to one and all.

Not into celebrating it anymore. Was fine when I could go out and have 6 or 7 beers with my mates in the local but can't do it anymore and funnily enough haven't missed feeling crap the day after. Can actually go out and play tomorrow (or practice) without feeling rough.

Will probably watch a film with HID or catch Jools Holland. Never understood though why pubs charge you to go in when they let you in free the other 364 days of the year (and I was in there every one of them). Tried the golf club way back which was full black tie, but it was a strange atmosphere. A lot of the older couples didn't seem to like the younger ones having a few beers and being loud (not rude) and I think some of the normal "faces" felt quite constrained by it all. The food was decidedly average, the service was slow as we only have a small bar and the music wasn't great.

Apparently Monopoly is coming out this evening.

Anyone know a good relate counsellor?

My daughter got monopoly for christmas so I've played it a lot over the last few days.

MIL in hospital with pneumonia. Wife been in bed for 3 days with chest infection and flu.

Sitting here alone with a bag of frozen peas on my wrist because I hurt it 3 weeks ago and it still hurts and is stopping me playing and peeing me off big time.

Happy new year everyone :D

Yeah, alright pal. Your secrets safe with us.... :o

Yeah, didn't read that one back to myself before I posted it :o

Was due to set off for the lakes at 4:oo a.m. for a days climbing, but the forecast has suddenly turned to torrential rain and the gulley's are unstable, so gonna have a few fizzy drinks at home and try for my first round of golf for about 6 weeks instead :D

We have them going off here too. Me and HID have just been out for a drive and to get some air (going stir crazy with jack on the telly). I have to say most of the pubs seem absolutely dead. If you've had to buy a ticket to get in you've been done. Even my local is looking decidedly empty.
