I wouldn't remove any clothing. If I could see the ball I'd take the drop and rescue the ball. I'd be playing for fun, in the sweep or at best a board comp, so just not worth the effort.
Could you imagine the language and thoughts of the group not to mention you fellow playing partners as you strip off, play the shot then get ready again, so much for keeping up with the pace of play.
