What would convince you to buy a product?

You need to be able to find it first. Do people search for veasy or putter aids? You need to be near the top of the generic searches. This search engine optimisation can be costly but you can also do it yourself if you have the time. Google it for details.

I would beg/bribe golf monthly to include it in an editorial or run a putting aid/swing aid test and get it tested.

I think there is a fella on here called mike (?) who may have some influence

You could get some celebrity endorsement, lynx have done this quite well with the boom boom 2, but a free v easy may not have the same draw.

Alternatively get HFH to endorse. 'A £1 to HFH for every v easy sold' they will probably charge for this !!:o

It's a cracking aid, and the simplicity is key. Also it's not too pricey, so people will take a punt

I have bought several items purely on recommendation (including the V-Easy), so making sure people know about the V-Easy and can easily find reviews etc is key to increasing sales. The website needs to be made more slick and stylish. A magazine recommendation would definitely help, but how about a product relaunch with a V-Easy2 or a small/cheap addition to form a putting training set. Is there a youtube channel for it? Is it available through Amazon? Ebay store?

Revamping your website isn't about making it 'trendy' - it means making it making it inviting and accessible for people to peruse. Side effects of this will be higher rankings on search engines which is a huge part of marketing nowadays.

Took the words out of my mouth. There are 2 very seperate things on a website - looking good and working good.

Looking good is great if you have a lot of people going to the website, but if no-one is going there, you will be wasting your money on making it look good.

Also, Search Engine Optimisation isn't something to be taken lightly. Getting your website on Google can take a long time, a lot of effort and money. You need to find out what people are searching for online, then how competitive those search terms are (100's of web pages competing for that search term or 100,000?), then getting your site to appear in Google for said site. It's tough.

If you have a budget for your website, I'd use 2/3 of it on Search Engine Optimisation.

It doesnt have to take a lot of money, if you have a lot of time! its a bit chicken and egg.. My Mrs used to do some work for my BIL on SEO stuff from home, a lot of googling and blogging was involved to get keywords into posts that were not deemed to be in your face advertising. also just having the url / keywords in your forum signatures will start to boost the google search listing..

Time is money!

Type Putting Aids into google

If v easys not on the first page (which it isnt) you need to change that

Add that to a freshened up website, plenty of places now doing templates you can use, my wife runs her own business and her website is pretty good, but you have to keep on top of it

Also Facebook is a surprisingly good way to get your name out there too

There are a lot more gardeners than golfers in the UK.
Could you not get a nice picture of the v-easy with runner beans growing up the two arms onto some gardening website.
That might work wonders
;)

A modern, up to date website suggests that this firm is reputable.

An old fashioned website, in out of date fonts, with spelling mistakes and broken links suggests they are not.

It is just an indication, not a rule. It helps me make a decision as to whether I buy from it, though personal recommendation, or plenty of positive recent reviews carries more weight

Well, I bought one but it certainly wasn't due to the website!

Needs proper jazzing up in terms of layout, fonts and wording. The pictures are poor quality and inconsistent.

Also:
How to buy- "glad to report I can resume selling". I'd be wondering why you were stopped selling them...are they/you dodgy? (I know why btw). The layout of the page doesn't fill me with confidence either- click here to give me money kind of thing.

The gallery- I didn't think a Chinese assembly line would be a selling point?

The video is good and I'd have it more prominently displayed...page 1 material. If there was one thing I'd want a potential customer to see it would be this.

The product is good so you should be bigging it up more! Make some promises.

Had a quick look.

Websites definitely not my thing and slick advertising isn't going to make me buy anything, may stop me buying something.

The problem with a website that may be not so well put together is you may start to worry about the product.

A basic site could do, might not be ideal but I think it would need to flow better in terms of page design and content, they kind of look a bit of done on their own and put together with different text sizes and no real indication of thought and continuity gone on appearance. Even images seem stretched and out of focus on occasion.

I don't really see a lot for features and benefits, and benefits should be thought of all the way through to the golfers game and how it can help them achieve their aims, so maybe a video with a common problem (maybe real golfer, before and after) and how the v-easy helps you with it, what it achieves, what it helps the player achieve, how it's different from other stuff. If you've helped somebody on the verge of chucking it, that might make a nice testimonial.

Links can help search engines, so can others link to you? Can you get it endorsed by say the PGA or used within your county coaching set up or beyond (you provide, they give you a link and testimony).

Could you do a trade with a website designer, your needs shouldn't take much time updating so only really needs doing once. If you know someone with those skills, you could give so many lessons / time / play a couple of events / a corporate day for them.
