A friend of mine whose greatest passion is golf (playing and watching) is turning 40 in a few weeks and I'd like to get them a present related to golf..but I could do with some help with ideas!

Please let me know what the best golf-related present is that you've ever received, or what you would ideally like to get as present, related to golf. Obviously it has to be something that all keen golf players would love to get (not just you)! Please be a specific as possible (i.e. make/model, if relevant)

Many thanks
A

Im thinking tickets for something, maybe the open. Golfers like to pick there own toys when it comes to clubs.

How must would you like to spend?

PS your a good friend to join a forum to research a gift for a friend!!!

Weekend of golf at a top location is usually a good one. A good weekend away, with the mrs having access to the spa/leisure facility and me having a round or two at a top course would be my ideal.

I got my wife a lovely golf related gift for her 60[SUP]th[/SUP] Birthday last month. Yet she doesn’t even play golf. It was a weekend at the Luton Hoo with spa treatment. She and our daughters went for spa treatment whilst I and the son laws played golf.

The big surprise of the night was we presented her with a gift of a week in the Algarve, this September with the whole family. She was in tears. Now that’s just the kind of guy I am.

By the way; does anyone know if there are any golf courses in The Algarve

My good lady has bought me a round at Wentworth West course and Sunningdale New course at different times. She has also bought motor racing day at Brands Hatch, glider flying, ballon flights and a cookery day - all well received I have to say.

With you right up to the cookery day...

best one I had was old boss paid my membership to join my current club........thats maybe too much for a 40th but I agree about the weekend away or 2 passes to the Open with lunch, that will be a memorable day and he will think of you often as the instigator.

Get em a V-easy. I'm sure some geriatric will be along soon to flog em!

My wife treated me to a day at Sunningdale for my birthday a few years ago, it was £225 at the time for a round on each course.

That was a special day out :)
