What is considered the "top golf glove" ? whats your opinion folks?

im going to buy a glove asap, using winter ones atm and quite fancy trying a good/the best of gloves just to see if i can tell any difference from the usual 8-12pounds ones i eat my way through atm.

so whats everyones opinions on gloves? how do you tell that a glvoe is real leather? is real leather the best option? what gloves are there to choose from out there? do certain brands make poor gloves? what would you avoid and why?

I would have thought £8-£12 was a top end glove.

The ones I use cost about £6. Cabretta leather and I get through one every 15-20 rounds.

You can tell if it's leather by smelling it, but then people will look at you.

I like the Footjoy Sciflex, seem to get a lot of wear out of them and they are comfortable. Leather on the palm and synthetic elsewhere. Prior to these I used the Adidas Inertia gloves, they were really good, and well priced, but they changed the design and the material last year, I didn't get on with them so well - didn't fit and didn't like the feel.

ah, right ok, so maybe i just need a new glove. 15/20 rounds per glove sounds about right then.

id get that much golf in a month come summer which is maybe why i think it odd that i need a new one almost every month!

off the gloves i've tried this year i still prefer the Mizuno leather.

Thought it was better than the FJ, Titleist and Srixon top range gloves.

ive had a sciflex, and had no problems apart from the obvious wearing out that occurs after some usuage.

maybe try one of those then, do the guys on tour use the same gloves as us mere mortals?

I'm trying out the Bridgestone tour glove, it's only £5.99 at Online Golf at the moment.

I like the Titleist one. It just seems to fit well. Expensive though.

My top choice is Footjoy Sciflex, like the FJ Sof-Joy aswell
I also rate the Srixon Cabretta leather model ( Gold colour packaging ) good value too
You cant go wrong with the Sciflex for me though, comfort, Quality, and durable, Perfect.....:thup:

The only aspects of different gloves I can tell apart are fit and thickness. The different feels etc I can barely tell apart.

If I was thinking about how the feel affected my golf, I'd be kidding myself. I'm not dealing in the law of marginal returns where a glove is going to make much difference.

A decent all weather glove like footjoy weather-sof, is fine for my needs at about £6 or £7.

I don't need them to offer featherlite feel or be ribbed for her pleasure for that matter.

i dont think i could tell the difference either but i would like a thick glove is possible somethign that wouldnt wear out too quickly.

Bionic make the toughest glove known to man. I got one when I first started back a few years ago and now my Dad is still using it :)

The Footjoy Puretouch is for me the best going. Seem to last a decent while (I would use maybe 2 or 3 a year) or the Titleist gloves are good as well. I have odd shaped hands though and find that FJ or Titleist are the only gloves that fit me well :(

if your wearing them out quickly buy cheap and loads, check out clubhouse golf. i go t mizuno dualflex for 7.99 for two!!!! nice gloves imo

Titleist Players or Footjoy Stasof are IMO the finest gloves on the market.I don't normally wear a glove unless its very warm or very cold,but these are so thin and fit so well you hardly notice your wearing one.
I did buy a couple of Srixon Cabretta gloves at the beginning of winter,good price for a Cabretta glove,but the fit is awful (ML to big,M too small) leather is too thick,and the seams are loose and seem to catch and fold over as you grip the club.

I've read that the Kangaroo leather ones last for ages, but never tried one.
