I was at the Scottish Golf Show yesterday, just to have a look about and see what's what, not really looking at anything. I listened to a putting clinic Kevin Craggs was doing, saw some trick shots and had a coffee. I was wandering aimlessly when I noticed the Mizuno stand was a bit quiet, so I asked for a shot of the JPX800 irons. I was handed a six iron, and within 5 swings I was booking myself in for a fitting on Friday afternoon at Cumbernauld.

I was at the show on Saturday,could've been messy. If id had the money id have been custom fitted for a set of Callaway X-22 irons despite having a perfectly good set of MX-200 irons at home that i only got in November.

Evewhere I look at the moment I see Mizuno........ OK, I am in Japan. All it does though is torment me and almost want the hols to end quicker so I can be back in blighty for my fitting scheduled for my return. I`m playing a round at Suzuki Cars private golf course on Saturday (weather and earthquakes permitting), need to buy some balls to play. I can`t find the Bridgestone e6 so I`m tempted to give the new Mizuno MP balls a shot...

They were nice bats I have to say, felt a lot nicer than my Wilsons but if the numbers aren't that much different i'll just stick with what I've got.

Right, Friday 22nd was indeed the day. Arrived nice and early, had a spot of lunch and then proceeded to hit 75 balls as a warm up and managed to not hit any of them very well.

Not the best start...

However, Roland was nice and patient and we went through a few options and came up with a spec as follows...

Set Make-up: 4-PW,SW

Shaft: Nippon N.S. Pro 950Gh

Flex: Regular

Length: +0.5, Weight: Standard,

Lie: 1° up, Loft: std

Mizuno M-21 58 (tapes: 3)

Just need to convince the wife
