For me, it's National Club Golfer, as it feels more grass roots than all the others. I occaisionally peruse Golf Monthly but gave up on that and Todays Golfer as they seemed to have the same stuff each month, and became repetative.
Just asking:)

Subscribe to GM, Today's Golfer and Golf World. Plus get National Club Golfer at the driving range. And read a bit of Golf Punk on the Internet. They can get a bit repetitive when it comes to new equipment as they are all covering the same thing. But enjoy different bits of all of all the mags. Plus if you are clever you can some decent golf balls when you subscribe to the paper mags so the actual cost of the mags is very cheap. Assuming you would have bought the balls anyway.

But can't help thinking printed versions of mags won't be around for that much longer.

Best of luck in the next GM forum opportunity by the way ;)

I would expect total impartiality from moderators and powers to be in all such things. You're not suggesting they aren't are you?

And that is as honest an assessment as I have seen on here for quite some time. One which I 100% agree with.

I gave up reading Golf magazines some time ago as eventually you found the same articles coming around, the same manufacturers in the tests (few of the lesser brands) and not much to really grab me.

Used to buy anything and everything to do with golf. Bit by bit, as some of the mags became golf's version of the Sun, they dropped off the list. Occasionally pick up a copy of TG or GW, but usually come away felling robbed.

Subscribe to GM but feel that recent issues are lacking a bit of bite. There's been some, almost, great articles that have missed the bull's eye IMO. Will I let my subscription run on? I'm wavering...Probably 51% against.

Used to read them as a kid but haven't for years as there are only so many ways to skin a cat.

I tend to have a subscription to a magazine for a couple of years and then change as they become very repetitive in their content, irrespective of the subject matter. E.g. The Field, Shooting Times, MBR, Trail - had subscriptions to all but they all succumb to repeating the same things in the end and become brochures for manufacturers as this is the only thing that changes regularly.

The one exception to this is The Week magazine. A fantastic publication and a subscription I have had for years and will continue for as long as it remains as brilliant as it is today. Highly recommended.
