What do you think of when you are standing on the tee.

Just let my mind wander wherever it wants. Relaxed as possable, whilst I'm waiting for my turn. Guess this is the type of thing you mean? Rather than when its my turn to play.

"Don't hit it in the water....."Don't hit it in the water....."Don't hit it in the water....."Don't hit it in the water....."Don't hit it in the water....."Don't hit it in the water.....crap......

No, a lot of you don't get what i was aiming at.

DO YOU SING A WEE TUNE TO YOURSELF.

My assistant pro says it works for him.

What was you asking then when you asked "
What do you think of when you are standing on the tee." Surely answering it with what we think about on the tee would be the best idea, like most of us have. Or am I missing something?

I only think about where I want the ball to start. I don't think about the target as I don't swing the club towards the target.

Once I have looked at where I want to hit and addressed the ball, normally I just say to myself....."low, slow and let it go!!!" or in other words take it back nice and low to create a wide arc with a smooth rhythm, then accelerate the club through the ball and hit it.

I played a few times since reading MadAdey's swing thought and it's really working for me.
Thanks Again!

Depends on which course and which hole, if it's the 2nd or 5th at Westerhope, then it's "Please don't slice the ball onto the road, it's busy and there's cars going past"

On the tee only i always tap into the past good shots that i have hit of that particular tee....
Its amazing how you recollect the good shots over the bad ones....When i have a bad shot i find it easy to walk away from it and forget about it but i could nearly tell you every good shot that i have hit since taking up the game....

It doesnt always make me hit a perfect shot but it sure does get my mind free of swing thoughts.

If I focus on where I want the ball to start I don't need to think about the places I don't want it to go or even where I want it to end up... ie; no consequences. If I think about where I want it to end up I'd invariably start swinging my path/club AT the target which isn't going to help much.
